It takes discipline to sit down and write... something I'm lacking in... I have a blog that somtimes goes MONTHS without an entry, even though there are things going on that I could write about... I mean, I post to Facebook fairly regularly, and I could easily extend the posting to a blog entry. I just have to discipline myself to do it. I envy CW the way he's been able to do that and I applaud him.

I love "The Princess Bride". :) One of my favorite movies. 25 years, huh? Gads, I feel old.

EVERY President runs up these costs. You make it sound like President Obama is the FIRST to run up these bills. Nope. EVERY President has run up these costs.

I went to my 2nd Baseball game a few weeks ago, when the Seattle Mariners played the Orioles. And Seattle got trounced.

Pat, you have actually made it easy to understand the playoffs for this newbie. Thank you. I may actually watch the playoffs, and startle the husband into a heart attack! Heh. He's not a baseball fan and would probably keel over if  I started watching baseball and enjoying it!

Hey, I think Romney is his own worst enemy. He can't say or do anything without sticking his foot in his mouth and that's what's got the Obama people thinking about the Election being sewn up... Now if he'd stop making stupid comments, maybe his own party wouldn't be thinking about the mistake they made... (and no, I'm not making that up)

And yes, I will post links below in a few minutes/hours. I just don't have them bookmarked right now... but they were major newsites. :) But, as you say, there are still 40 days to go until the election.

After all the gaffes that Romney has had in the last several weeks, I would hope to hell he doesn't get elected, we don't need him to misread his cue cards and get our country into a worse mess.

As for the TSA, that was one of George Bush's grand ideas after 9/11. I can get through airport secruity with a box taped under the seat of my wheelchair (done it a few times), that could contain anything, including a bomb. What it actually contained was an Earthquake survival kit, but the idiots at TSA never found it, never asked me to open it, and never asked me what it contained. After the 4th time that it happened, I asked for a supervisor, explained that I had something to show him, and showed him the box. He was extremely upset, as the box was about 1 foot by 1 foot by 6 inches. That's a lot of plastic explosive if I were a terrorist.

Ditto on the wow. Also praying for you and your family as she recovers.

Well, stop parking in the handicapped parking spots, and you won't have parking tickets! ;)

I have eaten horse meat. I have ridden horses. I have gone to great lengths to go horseback riding because of my disability. Now, I like the taste of horse meat. It's an animal that can be used for food and I have no problem with eating it.

When I was growing up, my parents exposed me to all sorts of different food so that I experience different things. We ate bear meat, horse meat, boar, and pretty much anything that was legal to shoot... I think I liked it all (it has been a good 30 years since I've lived at home and the memory is a bit fuzzy on some stuff). I do know the bear filled the freezer quite neatly (and we had one of those chest freezers). My schoolmates always gave me the strangest looks when I told them what kind of meat I ate. :) Oh, and WILD pig. Dad even filled our freezer here when he was living 5 miles down the road before he moved to NV. :)

My point is, meat is meat. If it's suitable for human consumption, I ate it. And frankly, I think it's a waste otherwise.

Okay, I got told I didn't provide any ideas on what to do while in Seattle. :) So, here's my list... depending on the time of the year, you can take in local events, like the Western Washington Fair (Puyallup Fair), that happens the month of September. That's what CW and I will be doing on Thursday, seeing Jeff Dunham at the Grandstand show.

There's sports (We're going to a Mariner's game on Monday), the Seattle Center has an exhibit celebrating that they hosted the World's Fair 50 years ago. The Woodland Park zoo is a must see, the Sci-Fi Museum/EMP is good (They rotate their exhibits every few months).

For a spectacular view, go up to the top of the Columbia Tower, Seattle's tallest building. The Space Needle is something NOT to be missed.

If you like horse racing, Longacres is a must see. I've been only once, several years ago, but it was fun. The Pike Street Market, and the Waterfront are good for low key enjoyment. If you are a comic fan, Golden Age Collectables isn't to be missed.

I can see Mt. Rainier from the outdoor wraparound deck overlooking my backyard. I live just above South Prairie, WA (for you Seattle types), and will be taking CW and a mutual friend of ours sightseeing. We're going to a Mariner's game Monday, and then spending 3 says in Seattle, before going to the Puyallup Fair on Thursday to see Jeff Dunham. I've lived in the Seattle area all my life, and I love to play tour guide.

Travis McKee: Are you going to use a game-like space like SecondLife? A Google+ hangout? · 2 hours ago

Travis, that's one idea. I hadn't thought to do it that way... They have all the software built up... and it might catch those that don't like Facebook.

Albert Arthur: A lot less harder than having 2000, or 10,000 live bodies at a convention. No hotel to deal with. :)

Red Feline: :) Gotta jump in sometime. I've met all the stars of all the various Star Trek franchises. A few of the authors of the books are friends (AC Crispin, Vonda McIntyre), and I'm pretty well known in the fandom.

I think it'll be easy in some respects and hard in others... I'm not the boss, I'm just giving him ideas. We'll see how it goes. I think I've got the software choices picked out already. :) Chats and message boards of course. Don't know how long it'll run, a bit early for that determination.

Prayers gratefully accepted.

What about Romney's stupid comments, before he had all the facts? It's all over Facebook. David Gerrold was especially critical of him. Not that I'm surprised. But, he should have known better. And I think (and I'm glad) that this has torpedoed his chances to be President.

DanaWheels

What about Romney's comments after the attack? He didn't offer condolances, he didn't do anything most rational people would have done, he blamed President Obama. It's all over Facebook, my newsfeed on other sites, and the concensious is, "The GOP nominated a nutjob." I'm just hoping this will get people out to VOTE, and we'll see President Obama get another 4 years in and tell Congress what to do. (I do not subscribe to the fact that Pres. Obama can tell Congress anything, they do NOT listen).

DanaWheels

I had a horrible time in elementary and Jr. High school. Segregated because I was disabled, and bullied and all sorts of things that I've posted about in  another thread. I can't imagine what it would have been like if Facebook had been around back in the '70's. I do not have kids (not for a lack of trying), so I really can't comment on the post per se, but I do notice that kids are acting out more than they did when I was one... I fear for our future children when even simple courtesy is thrown out the window. I've had THAT happen (recently) too.

DanaWheels

I like the "tripped over the cord". :) Only people in my household that do that are the dog and the husband. Wheelchairs are immune to that.
