Ironically, I was a liberal until I moved to New York City, the most liberal city in the universe. Then I began paying taxes, began worrying about terrorism, and spent time considering what an abortion actually entails. I also started noticing that liberals were not as tolerant as I had thought (and I realized that I had not been a very tolerant liberal).
