As bad as this is, and it rocks the whole notion of having an income tax, the real dimensions of the corruption is far worse. Hot Air reports today on the systematic disclosure of privileged information from filings by Conservative groups to "Progressive" activists. (Yes, I am now putting scare quotes around that word wherever it arises, but I digress.) These disclosures have aided the ongoing campaign by "Progressives" to identify big donors to Conservative causes and target them for all manner of harassment.

Obama could crucify political opponents daily on the south lawn of the White House and the AP would cover Michelle's dress for the day. Of course, it is this reset button regime that has lectured us that playing the lap dog is the way to curry the favor of bullies and tyrants. I'm seeing how well that's worked for the AP.

The media did whatever they had to to keep the GOP out of the White House, no matter the cost, in 2008 and 2012, and in the ice cold aftermath of that massive breach of faith with the real issue decided, they are now desperately seeking to regain the credibility they so lightly discarded.

Here on the centennial of the ratification of the 16th Amendment, I think we can state categorically that the chances of a fair and equitable administration of an income tax has been wholly and abjectly disproven in this disastrous trial period and that it is time to adopt fairer tax approaches less prone to craven abuse and partisan bullying.

Judith, help me, I am confused and disoriented. One moment I was in my home dimension, where America, the media, and especially the New Yorker, are all playing out an absurdist Pravda North America kabuki existence, and now this. What next, official Washington noticing federal harassment of the Tea Party by partisan agencies like...the IRS. My head spins.

I know we don't need a federal Department of Education and the Regime has shown that we could reduce crimes perpetrated by federal employees considerably by dumping the Department of Justice as well. Obviously, I can't advocate the latter, and I happen to know there are voices in DoJ that deplore the monsters in their midsts and were bitterly disappointed when the electorate re-upped the mad men.

In the current environment, you can either accept federal money or run a proper Western university. The House needs to add some new hearings to the agenda.

While I hold a very firm belief that adult birthdays should be celebrated always and only if the honoree so desires, I am also a scofflaw of multiple offenses against my principles in this regard. I have gone so far as to celebrate genuinely twisted holidays on or around a birthday to create non-birthday events whose guest lists were pretty much indistinguishable from that of a birthday party for the person in question.

Consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds. 

Birthdays are ritual, and ritual has an undervalued place in our overly secularized and legalized perversion of a society. Rituals define who we are, who our friends are, who our enemies are, who our family is and who our relations are, who our worship community is.

And also, Bilbo Baggins' eleventy-first birthday was an awesome literary event of the first order. If your motion had been accepted a century ago, we might have missed the fireworks.

From the strategic perspective, it means a more serious naval and missile posture from the PRC thanks to "hard" currency and fresh production thanks to domestic oil. Not good news for the neighbors, who are already torn between combining forces to counter or appeasing the dragon each in their own turn. Currently the US has been established in the role of ringleader for coordinated resistance, but those slackers haven't been reliable of late.

From the economic perspective, China could move from the faux growth of unused production and fudged numbers to a true economic superpower in this century. I have no doubt that they will buy any expertise they need and master the necessary technologies. The question becomes, will they rein in their command and control instincts and allow a real market driven consumption economy or will they see the "surplus" purely as new perks for the elite and military buildup. 

I saw a report a couple of days ago where China had moved a platoon 17 miles into Indian territory and started tenting up and reinforcing. The early assessment was mind games, but I haven't seen anything more on it. No neighbors want a one on one.

Except that, having watched the video, the only hair care product in obvious use by the Obama voters is that spray on hair color that costume shops sell. You could also insinuate pamphlets into boxes of sensible shoes. 

That is effectively the case now. Doing fine with married women, getting dissed by baby mamas. Which means that the fathers that do stand up and do the family thing get to pay not only for their own kids, but for all of those mamas' babies as well. And their huge delinquency rate.
