What a silly little man.
The claim that the Beatles first appearance on American television was on the Ed Sullivan show is incorrect. They first appeared in an ironic "what will they think of next?" clip on the Huntley-Brinkley Report news show on NBC. They got wry smiles and remarks from Chet and David.
The call to abandon social issues is a call to abandon the culture. How would the country fare with the triumph of lower taxes yet harnessed to more dead babies and more sexual confusion? An odd mix that. These issues are worth fighting for. This Murphy sort of talk is an attempt to provoke surrender of the stronger force in the confusion of as yet not completely understood election. Don't be stampeded.

"Let me know if I'm missing something" I believe you are. Please see Furius Camillus above.
Is this a part of the vital "national conversation on race" that Attorney General Holder promoted while opining simultaneously that Americans were too cowardly to engage in it? Why should anyone be cowardly about these matters? It's not like you're going to get fired or something...oh, wait!
Geese are delicious!
Makes you proud to be an American.
