The problem (in the first place) is that they officially charged him... because POTUS and Holder think that this is just a domestic law-enforcement matter and not a national security matter.
Andy McCarthy explains that all of this is by design. The Administration wants to wish away the hard questions about how to deal with terrorism: <http://www.nationalreview.com/node/346785/print>
That any of the news about the charging of the junior brother is a surprise should be an embarrassment to us all.
It's a tricky to succeed in a mature market with a paradigm-changing device but it looks like that is what Blackberry is attempting to do.
This Blackberry user, for one, is eagerly waiting the US release of the new platform and devices. And, probably for the only time in my life, I see things the same way as one P. Morgan: <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWbHsWbS-tY> .
I participated in a QRP CW Sprint, a low-power morse code contest on amateur radio... It's very relaxing, trying to make out weak signal dits and dahs amidst all the atmospheric noise (made all the worse for the broadcast bloviating from DC).
Said a union firefighter and combat vet who thinks Obama is out to destroy our country: "Romney fought the unions in Mass. and he'd do the same as president... I couldn't vote for either so I stayed home."
Now, we both live in Vermont so it's moot. Neither his non-vote nor my GOP vote made a bit of difference.
As always, and as is evident here, there are multiple sides to every story.
For a different take (with background on Broadwell too), see Michael Yon: http://www.michaelyon-online.com/petraeus-a-sad-day-for-the-united-states.htm
I imagine that Obama takes it very personally (as did Carter) when footage of mobs burning his photo runs on US TV. Photos of our flag in flames? Not so much...
Michael Yon posted on this attack today. His summary argument is that, even on a moonless night, "The enemy fooled all of our high-tech gadgetry with training, observation, intelligence, terrain, planning, rehearsal, and audacity, using basic military tactics that were perfected long before anyone reading this was born."
I'm willing to bet (I'll double my contribution to Ricochet if I'm wrong) that if the polling for Obama continues to go south prior to the election, Ginsburg will take an early exit so as to give a lame-duck-Obama a chance at a "parting shot" appointment.
Re: May Day
Spotted on Twitter last evening, discussing likely events on the schedule for today:
