Xennady: I think the army is already politicized.

I note that every high-ranking officer seems to have obtained a degree from the leftist dominated US university system.

So if you aren't willing to parrot leftist nonsense you don't get that degree and you don't reach high rank.

Generals are political creatures of their regimes- and the US has been dominated by a leftist political establishment for a long time.

Of course the Republican party hasn't noticed this and would no idea what to do about it if it did. ·

Their indoctrination is made complete by attending the fancy-shmancy big name universities where they obtain Masters and PhDs.  The politicization is accomplished both in the classroom and through socializing with various lefty "rock stars" that they meet during these years of study.  Once they meet the upper crust of academia and get a taste of the good life, duty to country takes a backseat to their pursuit of the lifestyle of the (liberal) rich and famous.  Those generals and admirals who want to get into academia's inner circle also must accept, support, and defend the PC nonsense, e.g., diversity, homosexuality, women grunts, etc.

Smooth or crunchy?

Claire must be so proud of hubby Jay.

Am thinking about starting a conversation with nothing written in it other than the title:  Smooth or Crunchy?

If you've ever lived in the islands you'd know about a fun little game called kill  Haole.   · 3 hours ago

Am familiar with that game.  When I was stationed on Oahu, Hawaii we'd end up with at least one Marine in the hospital every month who had been jumped by a gang of locals and beaten into a pulp.  Don't remember any dying (probably has happened though) but some where so severely beaten that they had to be medically discharged after being released from the hospital.

Pugshot: @ Simon Templar (#63):

(1) Because the Left already engages in a particular behavior is: (a) no reason for our side to adopt similar behavior, and (b) no reason for us to endorse the Left's behavior;

(2) (a) I'm not sure that Kevin is enforcing a "community standard" as opposed to either a personal standard or a standard with which many would agree, and (b) I'm not equating his actions with boorish behavior; I was merely commenting on the views expressed in other comments regarding how they would mediate the controversy if it came to them as judges as a result of Kevin being charged criminally or civilly. I don't think his chosen course of action was appropriate (others have suggested far better ways to handle the issue), but I also don't think he should be subjected to either criminal or civil punishment. · 2 hours ago

Thank you.

Makes me want to shout out a never ending string of CoC violations and/or throw up.

Ladies and Gentlemen, what those Marines are doing hurts.  Try to do it for just one minute.

Now by order of the CinC, with elbow slightly bent hold your strongest arm out to your side (with nothing in your hand) parallel to the ground until ordered to put it down.  Now go get a massage for that aching shoulder, put some Icy/Hot on it and do it again with an umbrella (or 1-2 pound object) for as long as those Marines did it during the press conference.  Not much fun is it?

Our DIs at Parris Island used to make us stand with our arms straight out in front of us holding our rifles parallel to the deck (deck = ground for you landlubbers) until the first guy's arms would drop.  Hated that guy.

If only Obama were a pretend president I'd sleep much easier.

Funny, yet tastefully hateful.

Pugshot:

1.  We cannot further empower the Left by establishing a rule that behavior that personally offends us can justify an assaultive response.

2.  Second, if I were the judge, I might lecture Kevin on civil behavior, private property, etc., but I'd also deny compensation because the cell phone user was the one who initially ignored the rules and therefore had (in equitable terms) "unclean hands." · 1 hour ago

1.  The left already does this, just ask Ann Coulter or David Horowitz.

2.  Are you equating Kevin's enforcement of community standards with boorish behavior?

Blitter: Simon Templar, what you did was actually incredibly, incredibly foolish. This is called White Knighting and it eventually needs to stop. I know you think you were doing the right thing because think that because you have been swimming in feminism your whole life just as a fish swims in water. But that neanderthal turns her on on a primal level, it was all but certain you would become the bad guy. If you see a random mugger beating a woman for her purse, then there's a moral case for your intervention, but in the case of Rihanna crawling back to Chris Brown every time (do you really think this is the first time that has happened to the girl you saw?), she has made her free choice, you have *NO* obligation to intervene and every obligation to protect yourself by walking away.

Very foolish indeed, but I did not know that they were in a "loving relationship" when I heard, then saw the beat down.  What I observed was a large man slapping the taste out of the mouth of a not very large female, and I stopped it.  Think I reacted instinctively without thinking it through.

Joan of Ark La Tex:Alright, 10 cents, let's beat the dead english horse together.

Rule: To show singular possession for a word ending in an s or s sound, use the apostrophe and another s.

Examples: the class’s opinion (one class), a bass’s stripes, Marx’s theories, Dickens’s novels

Rule: To show plural possession of a word ending in an s or s sound, form the plural first; then immediately use the apostrophe.

Examples: the classes’ opinions, the basses’ stripes, the Williamses’ car, the Soos’ house, the Marxes’ children · 3 minutes ago

- but pronounce the singular possessive as if it were spelled with only 1 S.  Oh no, the forbidden S word raises its ugly head again.  It's everywhere!

Actually my word is the forbidden S word, the word that dares not speak its name.   Even thinking about writing the S word has been known to generate so much loving hatred that it can miraculously transform 10 cents into Rex Dime.  Which reminds me of the misspent days of my youth.

Another e-mail copied directly from the same author (# 54) who helped me to understand the purpose of the 2nd Amendment:

I am going to let you in on a little secret, and I challenge you to challenge my premise.  Most Black people that you will meet, encounter and dialogue with, do not put the founding fathers on the preverbal pedestal.  You and I both know that those liberties they envisioned only applied to White men.  Those very prominent men you speak about so revered could never, ever in their wildest dreams could envision the day a Black man like me could have a face to face equal dialogue like this.  If they could come back now, they would die again from shock.

As genius as they were, they were still ideologues and racists.  They dreamed of that ideal society for YOU! Those same dreamers took, stole, cheated and bribed.  Come on, who could own land and vote during that time.  For  And, still to this day, conservatives have failed to understand that everyone does not hold them in such esteem.  And they speak to us in those terms and demean those who do not share those sentiments.
