I bought my wife the iPad 1 when it first came out because it's the only piece of technology that she has ever shown any interest in. She never really used it other than to read books so I got her a Kindle which is much better for books and I nabbed the iPad for myself.
I wouldn't have predicted it but I use it every single day. It goes to work and comes home with me every day.
For Christmas my wife bought me the iPad 4 and I sold the iPad 1 on Craig's List for $200 bucks.
The bottom line is that it's not a replacement for a laptop or a desktop but it is a really good "lean back" experience.
I have a feeling that the founders envisioned a world where the average citizen knew all of their city council members and couldn't name any US senators or representatives. Sadly, it's the other way around.
I'm generally forgiving of a person when they say something stupid on live TV so I shake my head and give Matthews a pass but if this were a conservative commentator you know the so-called objective journalists would be pounding this story through the weekend.
Small world Jack. After lurking on the outside for over a year I joined Ricochet yesterday which also happens to be my birthday. After taking a thorough trouncing in my home state of Minnesota joining Ricochet just seemed like the right thing to do.
