Bio

I am a 'Kiwi' (New Zealander) living with my wife and two munchkins in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

I am an advanced trainee in Emergency Medicine, and have two years left till I can sit my fellowship exam to become a Consultant Physician.

I first became interested in US politics in 2000, when I was staying with my uncle in South Carolina, and discovered National Review magazine.

I am following the election closely and really hope Mitt can take the White House on November 6th!

Hi Franco, I can understand your frustration, but please don't leave ricochet! Keeping up with, and contributing to, the debate is important for the cause of conservatism. We need all opinions, because robust debate sharpens our intellects and prevents us from getting lazy like those flabby leftists! (Note I have avoided using "diversity" in my reply, a  (now) horrid word to my eyes and ears).

Thanks for the comment BrentB67. I am very envious that you seem to have met this man?! I live in Australia (as an expat Kiwi), but have followed US politics ever since I was there in 2000 during the Bush-Gore election. I have been very impressed by Cruz, as well as Rubio, Ryan and other articulate, assertive conservatives. My impression from afar has been that the left, and the establishment right, see Cruz as a threat, and that is why they are trying to paint him in a ridiculous light as a "McCarthyite", "bully" et cetera.
