Bio
A life long standard bearer of less government.
A believer in the power natural law
A political journey that didn't follow Churchill's famous quote of young Liberals and old conservatives. Rather it has moved only along the political spectrum's right side. With individual freedom always being the guiding light.

Re: Is This What the 1930s Were Like?
Your supposedly well educated adults are not well read, nor educated. They are not at the end of history, but rather at least 100 years behind the curve. The trend of socialism as an idea on which to further bring about the progress of western civilization has been debated, and the lessons (of eventual decline) have been well documented by multiple generation in many different countries.
Your "well educated friends" are just simple groupies of feel good policies. The problem with that attitude is that it has consequences. The results of November 6th have clearly exposed the danger that we are in. A brighter future is not preordained. The continued progress of western man is not inevitable. Whether our progress is halted or continues; will in a large part, depend on the success we have in getting these type of "educated adults" to understand the magnitude of their ignorance.
Tell them to start their education by reading F.A. Hayek "The road to Serfdom"
