Not JMR: Never watched Kudlow before. Man, he's awful.

I never watched Kudlow either, but I do listen to his Saturday morning radio show on WABC.  It's a good show, and he strikes me as a good man.  Give it a try. "Jimmy P" is a regular.

Villanova University takes it seriously.  You might find the website useful. See the "Mission & Ministry" link under "About."

A Harvard alum no less.  He came out in tact.

Marry well.

One of the universities on the list in the original post is reporting the annual cost of an education in 2013-14 will be a staggering $58,812!  Naturally, the admit rate is a record low, so apparently the market has nowhere near peaked.  I'm short on the details at the moment, but Charles Murray has talked about certification as an alternative to the BA.  I have recommended that concept to at least one college grad who is now pursuing actuarial certification as an alternative to doubling down on debt with an MBA or similar advanced degree.  Arthur Brooks wrote recently of a "$10k BA."

I suffered through a law school commencement this week in Boston (not HLS).  The rhetoric was brutal.  Not only small, but stale.  The student speakers perform for the faculty, the faculty performs for the administration, and the honoree performs for everybody.  The use of the word "inclusion" ad infinitum, pushing the homosexual agenda, praising the first black president, gushing over their "diversity trophies" (credit to M Steyn), e.g., foreign students, lesbian faculty, denouncing fossil fuels and free enterprise and on and on.  I understand about 75% of the graduates don't even have job prospects, yet they give each other standing ovations!

When will people sober up and stop writing big checks and incurring massive debt for this rubbish?

Steyn never disappoints.  This is off topic, but his remarks on the Boston bombing resonated most strongly with  me.  The governor here, who is being floated as a possible replacement for Holder, to my knowledge has yet to offer an opinion on what could possibly have motivated the bombing.  Add that the two never worked and were collecting multiple forms of government handouts is truly obscene.  The governor calls such stories of abuse "anecdotes."  To summarize Steyn, they never should have been in this country in the first instance, but they were diversity trophies for the City of Cambridge.  I have not heard Rosenberg before, but will tune in again.  Thanks for the info Pseudodionysius.

Peter Meza: Paul Ryan may have it all squared away in his own mind, and Father Sirico as well.  99 per cent of the Christian clergy don't believe a word of it. ยท May 13, 2013 at 12:57am

Larry Kudlow (a Catholic), Arthur Brooks and Steve Forbes all make the moral argument too.  Brooks lays out the case very nicely at his AEI site.

I like Ryan, a lot, but this is disappointing.  Not the kind of leadership I am looking for.  If Ryan wants to branch out from his budget work, I'd rather he confront the administration.  For instance, schedule Benghazi hearings.

I intend to vote for the guy, but after the Brown-Warren election, I certainly do expect the same dismal ROI.  Low voter turn out may be the only hope for Gomez.

Note Carson is scheduled on Book TV's "In Depth" interview/call in program on August 4.

I have congressman envy again.  A very low bar here in MA.  I was generally familiar with Tom Cotton's impressive background in the military.  Transition to your Loon of the Week, Kerry.  Recall his contempt for the military with his cheap remark a few years ago about college graduates who "get stuck in Iraq."  He simply can't fathom the character of someone like the representative.  "Sweet Adeline" wasn't his first baseball related gaffe.  His favorite players include:  "Sammy Souza," "Mike McQwire," and of course, Boston's own "Manny Ortez."

If there is a conviction on federal charges, what is the percentage chance Holder will recommend the death penalty?  I believe that one is his call.

Fred Williams

Globe does not deserve any benefit of the doubt.  Yeah, I saw a good map and time line and  a couple of other items along those lines, but they have no credibility on the issues.  It's a liberal hack paper and has been for years.

There is only one UMass Dartmouth.  It is located in Dartmouth MA near New Bedford.
