They don't know us well enough to like us or not like us. They are taught to dislike America (along with American and most western universities). Especially in the middle east, the dictators blame America for all their woes to divert the attention away from their looting of the treasuries.

Look what good government in Israel has done with a desert. What have other despots done but bring misery to their people? 

It's important to point out that we don't like these guys but there are not clearly better alternatives.

Regarding Iran, you can look up polls (if you have any real interest) that have been done there and they show only Israel as being more pro-American in the middle east.

Does the word support mean like? Why have an argument with a straw man. Anyone can out-argue a straw man of their own making.

The notion of lesser evil is lost on you? Do you not understand what I am saying?

If not Mubarak, who would have been better? Not different but better? I'm not saying that there is not such a person but to install him or her would have meant the deaths of many innocents.

We do what is in our interest just as all countries should.

We don't support Left-wing dictators because they are anti-American and they are usually not the lesser of two evils. They are almost always horrific in their mass murdering.

The universities teach anti-Americanism, sloppy or not. We export that product all over the world.

The easy straight answer that fits all the facts is that Obama, Hilary and his minions were ALL lying. That's it. It's not complicated at all. What we know now shouldn't have any journalist or columnist having any doubt about this. But, they are helping as much as they can to promote doubt about the whole thing, hoping with enough delay to get this story to die.

This is a standard left-wing idea. The left supports left-wing dictators all the time and no one says this is cause for anti-Americanism. The reason: the left is anti-American and claim to be internationalist. 

We support whomever we have to for AMERICAN strategic and security reasons. It's the old lesser of two evils that is at work here. Supporting Mubarak doesn't mean we like him. But, take Castro -- he's loved by the left not just tolerated -- LOVED.

Many people in the Middle East are not reflexively anti-American but the international left is.

If you read standard news in the world today you get the impression that many people do not like us. It's not true. Even Iranians like America -- and they wish that we would help them out of their predicament.

I think the left will move in any direction that will benefit it. Sexual license is a perennial but it becomes a key during this modern era when pregnancy can be dealt with in such tidy ways, either through contraceptives or abortion. This is why they know the fight for this country is tied up in this issue. Once a woman has an abortion she and her friends will probably vote Democrat.

Clarence Thomas, during his book tour, said many times that the Anita Hill attack and the left's hatred of Thomas was about abortion. They see this as important as state run health care and state run education.

But, David Horowitz says it best: The left talks about freedoms and rights but almost always uses sex and drugs as the way to pull people on the fringe in. Fringe elements don't care about property rights, the rule of law and the other virtues in a community.

It's a weird way to gain power but the left has managed to corrupt every good virtue and promote a lot of vices or at least get us all to discount their danger. This greases the skids for their takeover. 

His higher goal was reelection not carrying out his duties. He swore a public oath on his duties -- but this matters not a bit to the priorities in his allegiance, which is to the left-wing great hope. Simple allegiance to the great internationalist cause explains it all. He's a true believer of the intellectual cause of Marxist Socialism and the eventual Utopia in Communism.

America is that cause's great nemesis. He is destroying from within while leading from behind.

The notion of occupied territory was during the war and during Reconstruction -- not afterwards so much.

A funny thing happened in the north after Reconstruction -- they just averted their eyes and pretended the put down of black voters and black democratic rights were none of their concern. The northern branch of the Democratic Party made common cause with that same party by name in the south. They couldn't have cared less about the fact that black governors, senators and congressmen were no longer part of the Wash. D.C. passing parade. They were simply extinguished from memory. 

U.S. Grant must have fretted to see this happen -- after all he had tried to do to protect their rights as Americans.

It's clear that Hilary can think things through in a thoroughly linear fashion:

1. Get Obama re-elected.
2. Keep herself out of the cross-hairs until she can resign as Secretary.
3. The absolutely reliable media will help with this to get across the finish line.
4. The Dems might win the house and keep the Senate and nothing will come of this if they get both houses.
5. If there has to be reckoning it will still almost 3 years before she will run for president. The media will slowly morph this away.
6. The key thing is the presidential election in 2016 and actually the 2014 election will probably clear the decks and the media will feel justified in starting a new narrative for her.
7. The left's control of the media is the single most important weapon that the Dems have.

I agree with you, Jimmy. All of the high predictions for the great blessings that a nation so conceived can bring were discussed in those days and they have been proved right in more ways than they could have ever imagined. 

The ideals of our founders were truly great. It's so interesting, though, how little the people of the French Revolution understood. Nursing old grievances brought on calamity.

Our country had one other great blessing that people don't usually talk about: Canada, to allow a relief valve for the committed Royalists and Loyalists to vent the pressure that might have otherwise been here. 

Our Civil War is more like what happens to countries without a relief valve. Look at the depravity and evil that was allowed to continue in the south after Reconstruction. 100 years were lost in our country.
