I thought the picture looked like Andy Kaufman.

As someone else mentioned in the previous thread, the silver lining is that   youthful miscreants frequently trip and fall when attempting to flee police.

I ask the site administrators to please include "direct link-click here" with each podcast.  It is easier than having to figure it out every time.

Because this video is so bizarre, I went to the Move On website just to confirm that this thing is really, truly associated with that group.

Yes, it is.

I just cannot fathom how their minds work.

Thanks for pointing out the possible predictive nature of a Giants' win.   That would at least serve as some small consolation.

I'm sure Obama is not happy with the way that Colorado interview went.  If I were undecided, I don't think I would be more inclined to vote for him after seeing that.

And the way things are going, even if Hilary shouted from the rooftops that the President said "Let them die and blame it on the video. Nothing must jeopardize my campaign," I doubt there would be any media coverage.

I couldn't stand to watch it all the way through.  Obama is such a gasbag!

Flop--I totally agree.  It would have next to no effect on debt/deficit.  But, if it would have as negligible a negative effect on the economy as I suspect, it mystifies me as to why the GOP didn't trade the tax hike for some minor Democrat concession during the past couple of years.  The Dems would be left without their biggest talking point.  The class-envy card would be off the table.  They'd have one less thing to use to motivate the "gimme" crowd.

I think some people who are against a return to Clinton-era income tax rates may find themselves even more unhappy if Romney's cap on deductions ever gets up a head of steam, especially if they have big mortgages and pay a lot of property tax

Schrodinger--Yes, the relative tax rates (70s vs. 80s) and peace dividend explanations seem to be points worth investigating.  And I'm well aware of the problem inherent in providing Wimpy with a hamburger today on his promise to pay me next Tuesday (like the border-tightening that was supposed to follow the '86 amnesty!).

Stalemate will be fatal.  Perot was right twenty years ago.  Somebody's got to get under the hood and start working

Docjay--I may be wrong, but my understanding is that for your tax bill to go up by $9000, you'd need to be have $500,000 of taxable, earned income.  The first $250,000 would not be affected at all, if my understanding is correct.  In other words, if you had $260,000 to be taxed after deductions, exemptions, and credits, for example, you'd pay an extra $360 under the Obama plan ($10,000 x 3.6% = $360).

kesbar--My assumption is that we can't keep spending more than we're collecting in taxes.  If higher rates prove to yield less revenue, I trust that reason will prevail and rates will soon be lowered once again.  And if it's the only way to break the logjam, and would help convince our legislators to get serious about reining in the spending, why not give it a go?

BrentB67--I don't have any clue what you mean by "hurdle rate for pass through business entities."  Can you give me a brief explanation?

A lot of the 'old folks' on my mother's side were in Venango County, which is pretty good for fall color, too.

I'm using Safari browser and am pretty happy with it.  I guess it is supposed to be for Apple products, but somehow my son has installed it on my Toshiba.

Gibson started games 1, 4, 7.   Lolich started 2, 5, and 7 (on two days' rest).

Lolich likely will be the last pitcher ever with three complete-game wins in a series.
