I don't think it is necessary to hold Hillary personally responsible in order for her to be held officially accountable, but it still won't happen unless Obama decides to throw her under the bus.

I thought of many pertinent, creative, and subtle avatars to characterize myself in an incomprehensible way, and then I thought, "Oh, t'heck with it," and WISIWYG.

I got them all right, but I cheated.  I went through ninth grade long enough ago that they still taught stuff like that.

Don't be so hard on CPS.  After all, if you are placed in a position of power, what would be the point if you didn't exercise it?  Gotta confiscate a few kids once in a while!  And it should be the kind of kids whose parents you just don't approve of -- two birds, one stone, dontchaknow.

Hard cases make bad law -- and policy.  The unwilllingness to tolerate bad outcomes for other people leads to central agencies making or reviewing every decision in life.

Is baseball the most conservative sport?  I think one can make an excellent case that it is. · 1 hour ago

Sure -- well, except for the DH rule, of course.

But watching paint dry or grass grow are similar. · 2 hours ago

This is just your ignorance talking.  If you would take the time to understand how paint dries or grass grows, you could watch them with great enjoyment.

What is he risking?

Maybe nothing.  Imagine the hooraw that might erupt if he is released now.  He may just be extending his career.

I thought Magic Johnson was pretty much an open secret.  Never cared enough to invesigate, though.

I can attest to what you say; having children was life-changing for me.  I am not sure that it is a universal experience, though.  I hear about too many instances of abandonment, abuse, or even murder of children.  I cannot relate to these; I must conclude that a lot of people are just different in a scary way.

I don't think the incivility you (sometimes) hear on talk radio is more than a pretext for major "news" organizations to demonize the right.  If it weren't for talk radio, it would be the Tea Party or something else.  Attacking talk radio is actually helping the leftish media in their diversions.  It may be just as accurate to say that the fault lies in all those of a rightish persuasion who refuse to push back against the leftedia in defense of talk radio.  You will notice that those on the left don't attack their "allies."  "No enemies to the left!"  Isn't that how it goes?  Politics cannot be won by being too fastidious to ally yourself with those you 70% agree with, just because you disapprove of their manners.

Richard Finlay

Who are these great masses of people who would become Conservatives if only talk radio were more civil?

Richard Finlay

I see your point. I see a denial of agency, or maybe free-will agency, in that they do not address the misuse, but rather the instrument.  The justification for the confiscation is that it will be misused and that such misuse cannot be controlled.  Yes, the human is an agent, but only in one direction; he cannot be expected to use it responsibly and therefore it must be prohibited to him.

Nope, not gonna comment.  You can't make me.  I simply refuse.

Jamie Lockett: Ah, that must be why our arguments were so strong and President Romney is set to pass landmark entitlement reform next week...

Of course, if Romney had been elected by taking "centrist" stances on everything, the landmare entitlement reform might involve its expansion to include guaranteed above average income for everyone.
