Here's another: "No law shall exceed 200 words in length, in accordance with Ricochet standards." That'll keep out the special interests.

Constitutional Amendment: "Congress shall pass no law which does not apply fully and equally to all members, nor which exempts any members either in full or in part."How's that?

Arizona Conservative: Why would a resignation stop someone from testifying???? They can subpoena him. · 25 minutes ago

My thoughts exactly.  Assuming he is being honest about his reason for resigning, he ought not be immune from testifying.  If his resignation has the opposite result, that would be problematic, no?   · 16 hours ago

Looks like the House will subpoena.  I'm not holding my breath that they will follow-through.

Interesting that 47% said to go ahead and raise taxes [on the rich]...

I was an ORCA poll watcher in Pennsylvania.  Neither the smartphone app, nor the phone-based backup worked all day.  It was extremely frustrating, and by 1pm, my ORCA colleague and I (yes - there were TWO of us!) completely gave up trying to call in the results.

Fortunately, we also had a County GOP poll watcher who maintained his own list and took the hard-copy to the phone banks at 3pm.

My county went for Obama, 52/48.

All day long, I couldn't help but think that the system was either hacked, or sabotaged from within by a closet Obama supporter.  It wouldn't be that difficult to do.  I'd be interested in seeing the post-mortem.

As soon as I walk outside to drive my son to school.  (Not sure if the First Navy Jack will come down yet, though)

Re-establish the Office of the President-Elect!

Obama would self-destruct!

This letter from the Pennsylvania Bishops was read in my parish and is (presumably) to be read across the state.  http://www.pacatholic.org/a-statement-of-the-pennsylvania-catholic-bishops-on-the-2012-elections/

I agree with previous posts that the US Bishops shot themselves in the foot with their endorsement of universal health care in previous years.

Interestingly, in addition to shifting back toward first principles of life and religious freedom on the political front, there has been a parallel 'calibration' to orthodox, authentic Catholic teaching and celebration of the liturgy in the last few years.  Coincidence?

Driving around Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley (Eastern PA) the last two weeks, the Romney/Obama sign ratio has been at least 25:1.

A study was released a few months back that compared the ability of each side to state the arguments that the *other* side would make about any particular issue. For example, "Ms Pro-life, what arguments would your pro-choice counterpart make to support their position?"

I don't recall the exact numbers, but do remember that they were about 80/20 in favor of the right. That is, those on the right could state the left's arguments correctly 80% of the time, while the left could only do so 20%. It demonstrated to me that the left has a much harder time even considering that the right's arguments could be valid.

Methinks our CinC is one of the 80%.

Gustav Holst's concert band material is up there as well!

One of my favorite memories is playing his English Folk Song Suite while in high school.
