I strongly recommend EconTalk, by professor Russ Roberts of George Mason University. He's the one who wrote the material for the renowned Keynes VS Hayek music video "Boom and Bust."

Another favorite of mine is DH Unplugged, where a highly successful investor and a columnist and experienced broadcaster discuss international politics, economics and investment from a very free market perspective.

The Cato Institute Events Podcast is another great alternative.

All three podcasts are also available on iTunes.

Sorry for commenting on it as though it had taken place; I clearly need to review my sources more carefully. There's still something hypnotic about it, though.

Many of you may recall the "Fear the Boom and Bust" rap anthem, which was created by director John Papola and economist Russ Roberts of the George Mason University. It featured "Keynes" and "Hayek," who rapped about the state of the economy. If you are not familiar with it, you may view it here.

Papola and Roberts are creating a new music video of the same type now. A few days ago, a live preview was performed at the Economist's Buttonwood Gathering, where it was viewed by financial managers and CEOs, politicians, central bankers and Nobel Prize-winning economists. The artists gave a great performance, and it was interesting to watch the reactions in the audience. I wonder if Paul Krugman was present.

The performance was followed by a brief interview with Papola and Roberts.

I encourage you to view it here.

While I certainly am the silent type, your exceptional hostess skills have compelled me to at least give a brief introduction. I'm a Norwegian conservative currently living in Australia, and am working in the field of business analysis. In a few years, I expect to transfer to an office in the U.S. (and eventually become a citizen).

Ayn Rand was my "gateway drug" into the Right, though over the years I've moved closer to the classical liberalism of Hayek and Thatcher. In fact, I discovered Ricochet after having watched your interview on Thatcher on Uncommon Knowledge.

In any case, this is now my favourite political website, and I especially appreciate the Ricochet podcast. A big thanks to all the contributors!

David Kube: Only a Sith Lord deals in absolutes.... ยท Oct 17 at 10:15pm

That is, in and of itself, an absolutist statement. Ergo, Obi-Wan Kenobi must either have been a Sith himself, or an intellectually lazy thinker.
