I'll second Snoopy and the Red Baron, and also recommend one of my all-time favorites, Guitarzan, by Ray Stevens.

Seconded!

As of this morning Google is no longer my home page.  At least Bing.com has Easter eggs today.

Finally a Ricochet podcast that leaves me in a happy mood!  Thank you, Judith and Damian.

And this is the same US postal service that has lost two of my mail-order packages in the last three months?  The same one that returned a Christmas card to my ex-coworker stamped "No such address" when it was addressed perfectly correctly?  The same post office that took almost a month to deliver a card to my brother-in-law who lives in the next town over from me?

I hope their new line of clothing is shipped from China by US Mail.  They'll never be seen again.

I fell right on the line between Centrist and Conservative.  I take that to mean that Ricochet, the place for center-right conversation on the web, is the perfect place for me.

I'm sorry about that choice of phrase, guys.  I had completely forgotten about that part of my responsibility, and the request for the next secret phrase caught me completely unprepared.  All I could come up with were the two words that have been burned into my brain over the last two months.  I thought the guys adding my tentative "I guess..." to the official secret phrase was a nice touch, though.

But Nathan, how are you going to watch the new season of Sullivan & Son on TBS?

Jeff Petraska

Wow.  My wife and I are 2 for 12 on Sawatdeeka's list.  What does that make us, other than outliers?

Merry Christmas to all of you!  And may 2013 be better than we expect.

John will be getting a bottle of scotch, a cigar, and a box of 9mm ammunition.

Finally some good news this Christmas season!

Jeff Petraska

I come here dailyfor just two purposes: to read the Main Feed and to download the latest podcasts.  I have very little interest in posting, or even commenting on posts.  That's just a reflection of my personality, I'm far more a listener than a talker.

Ricochet is the only website that I pay to play.  I view it as the equivalent of a magazine subscription.  My most expensive magazine subscription right now costs me just over $40/year, which is a little high as magazines go but I pay it because it's a niche subject (Trains), it's a monthly publication, and I read every issue cover-to-cover.

I would probably be willing to pay a little more per year for my membership if necessary, but if the price goes too far beyond that niche magazine subscription price it'll get hard for me to justify to myself and the missus.  If you wanted to institute a tiered membership structure, I would also forego posting priviledges for that price as long as my podcast access and reading access were maintained.

Unfortunately, I have no idea if I am a typical Ricochetti or not.

I'm getting tired of extended debate between opposing viewpoints being characterized as "petty bickering".

Roland Zullo, a research scientist at the University of Michigan Institute of Labor and Industrial Relations, offers an opposing viewpoint:

A friend of mine posted this link of Facebook.  Responses, anyone?

What a delightful way for me to spend a peaceful and quiet Thanksgiving morning!  Well done, Peter, Rob, and Harry.
