When an officer kills someone in cold blood executing a botched raid, it's "Proper procedures were followed."  When someone kills an officer, it's "Burn 'em with fire", and "Oh, that wasn't him?  Oops, here's a truck."

In case capitalization counts, "So God made a farmer."

I don't even follow cricket, but this sounds fishy indeed.

Don't think so small.

The King Prawn:  The most direct argument against it is a compound word that does not pass the CoC. · 8 minutes ago

Perhaps we should just say Penn&Teller! instead of this forbidden word...

They don't need to fix the law.  No prosecutor would ever prosecute a police officer for this.

All cute & cuddly species are valuable.

I was in a restaurant when a real fire alarm went off.  Nobody moved for minutes.  Based on that, I don't think a false, single claim of  "Fire" would do anything.

Is Obama going to be invited to the inaguration?

Ruth Davis Konigsberg should write a compelling, epic work of fiction, or take a hike.

Forgive a silly question, but what precisely happens if the (House) Republicans just collectively stay home?  Failing that, suppose they simply fail to vote on taxes, budget & the debt limit?

Perhaps this deserves its own thread.

curtmilr: Perhaps, IP, but there are folks publicly calling for the political opposition to be arrested and put in reeducation camps.  · 2 hours ago

What would a conservative reeducation camp be like?  One imagines the victim being strapped to a comfy chair, with his ears being held open, listening to Limbaugh, Levin, and Ricochet podcasts 24/7, perhaps with some Bill Whittle, Andrew Klavan, and even... dare I say it...?  Radio Derb.

Supposing as an employer I were to decide that I will not hire graduates of, say, Harvard University or Yale University or Princeton?

Based on what I've seen on the performance of Harvard and Yale grads in high government, this is a no-brainer.

Are you really certain he cares about his friends and donors?

Teach 'em all!  Stats and calculus (from a solid base).  Ethics and virtue.  If they aren't available in school, produce classes on the internet, a-la khan academy,

Make this a man's game, played by manly men.  Off with the girlie helmets and the sissy gloves.  Replace the metrosexual dirt with heroic stone.  The grass should be cropped by free-range goats, and their droppings left for fertilization.  The balls should be made of rock, and the bats of metal.  Speaking of bats, there should be an actual bat cave at every stadium filled with bats and masculine guano.
