Another one of those (admittedly few) crazy conservative Christians that actually live and work in Los Angeles!

Absolutely wonderful podcast. It's given me a lot to think about, and I can't wait to read the book.

I grew up in Oregon, but my family isn't close and there is a lot of brokenness there - in a way in enabled me to leave easily. I went to college in Nashville, lived in New York City for a bit, and now live in Los Angeles. While I'm not married nor have children, I have no desire to start or raise a family here, and I'm anxious to move....however my current industry (entertainment) makes that difficult.

As a result, I'm starting Business School later this year in Texas, and I'm very much looking forward to it. Thankfully I'm young enough at 29 to realize where my path was heading and have time to change directions a bit.

Thank you Ben, Abby, and Rod.

Thanks Rob. I think. Good Lord, horrifying.

The Cloaked Gaijin: Wow!  I just lost a certain amount of respect for Josh Treviño and James Pethokoukis.

I had the completely opposite reaction. Josh in particular was incredibly articulate and thoughtful. It's clear he knows what he's talking about.

"That was a preview of the next Mark Steyn column."

Amazing stuff - had to control my laughter here at work. :)

I had to Google what the whole Ginger VS Mary Ann question was about!

Fun show as always.

And Douglas, to quote Joshua Trevino:

if you look at nonwhites and see intrinsic nonconservatives, you are definitely part of the problem.

Josh Trevino can say what he likes, but reality is reality. Even Matt Yglesias... surely no conservative... wrote a column yesterday where he crunched numbers on Hispanic exit polling, and came to the same conclusion that anyone with common sense has noticed for years: even with amnesty aside, as a voting block, Hispanics are liberal, by huge majorities. They want big government, big taxes, and big services. The message of conservatism simply doesn't appeal to most of them. Bang your head against the wall all you like, but facts are facts. We have several Hispanic members here who have said as much to the effect, and that they despair of that ever changing. · 2 hours ago

They are now, but they don't have to be. To write off minorities wholesale is foolish, immoral, and hurtful to this country. It is an uphill battle at the moment - but our message has not been clearly or honestly communicated with them.

I'm 28. I'm in this for the long haul. I'm not even married yet (or dating anyone - but that's another story, ha) and I'm in this fight for my future children. Giving up is not an option.

Also, loved the Lileks turn of phrase "braying Eeyore-ism" - cracking up here!

Dean Murphy: I am a World of Warcraft aficionado.  I also have Steam for Portal and Portal 2, but like you I played through it in about 15 hours.

I went looking for other games on Steam and got a racing game (my other passion besides Role Playing Games) and DC Universe Online.

If there are any other WoW players out here, let me know, we can exchange RealIds. · 4 hours ago

As Prager says, liberalism poisons everything. =/

PConn: Yup! XCOM is a lot of fun. Good story, really nice graphics. Not enough strategy for my taste but worth the purchase. And yes, the storylines seem to get poisoned. Borderlands 2 is a good example.

Lots of silly fun, but fun nonetheless. One mission I got a message from a female scientist describing bad guys threatening her "wife". Please just let me shoot evil robots and save the commentary for the free wifi at starbucks. Hmm?

I'm also a huge fan of the Anno series - except for the horrendously liberal/PC story. Has anyone else noticed this? The gameplay is so great though....!

Hello, friends.

Yep, I'm on Steam. Not much lately though, as I study for the GMAT and prepare for Business School. When I do have a moment or two, I'm enjoying the new WoW expansion. Played the demo of XCOM and really liked it - I've heard a ton of great things about it.

I've tried a few rounds of LoL, but I just can't really get into the Dota/LoL scene - the community is...not great and I have no idea what I'm doing, ha.

Wonderful article. Thank you for sharing this, Peter.

I'll be moving to Texas or the South. I plan to next year, actually, regardless of who wins by way of Business School. Los Angeles and California are driving me nuts, and I'm young enough (28) to start somewhere anew. And it's not just for my own happiness - it's for the sake of my future wife and children.
