IN other words: Cory Booker. · 1 hour ago

Here's the thing about American politics - newly elected Presidents tend to be a reaction against the previous administration.  Cory Booker is just too much like Obama.

40%+ of America will support putting Obama on Mt. Rushmore in 2016. · 0 minutes ago

I disagree.  ObamaCare is coming next year, and there will be many disappointed Democrats when they learn that, far from being free, it's more expensive than had they bought it themselves.  Oh, and the fines for not signing up will also be unpopular.  I am pretty convinced that the 2012 election was stolen by Obama - and that the Republicans are dismantling their tools for depressing the GOP vote.

Salvatore Padula: S&L- Hispanics overwhelmingly vote Democrat. Why do you think that running a Hispanic Republican would change that? · 0 minutes ago

Because a Hispanic Republican could endlessly repeat the following:  "Desde Obama se ha convertido en presidente, los hispanos han perdido 44% de su riqueza total. Más que cualquier otro grupo de estadounidenses."

Beowulf Guy: Well, Barack came out of nowhere. So will the Twenty-Sixteen Dem candidate. And likely it will be Brother of Barack, metaphorically speaking. Another no-experience ideologue who talks about hope and change, but this time more openly about socialism. · 0 minutes ago

The difference, of course, is that in 2008, the country hated Bush.  In 2016, they'll hate Obama.  In 2008, the GOP were willing to allow the Democrats to cheat - in 2016 - not so much.

It's 48% Hispanic, 23% black.  Repeat the same line over and over and over....SINCE OBAMA WAS ELECTED, HISPANICS LOST 44% OF THEIR TOTAL WEALTH.

flownover: If things were problematic for Maxine, you would have seen some gerrymandering done, and it was in 2010

They moved things around already and her old district, the 35th is now held by someone else, Maxine has a new district, the 43rd.

The numbers I quotes were for the 43rd District.  It's 48% Hispanic, 23% black.  Repeat the same line over and over and over....SINCE OBAMA WAS ELECTED, HISPANICS LOST 44% OF THEIR TOTAL WEALTH.

Majestyk: I find the notion of employing racialist politics to be unpalatable at best.

What I find unpalatable is losing a battle we could win.

"The demagoguery that emerges from the mouth of a nasty racialist like Maxine Waters is what ultimately keeps her in office.

Let Maxine keep the race baiting.  Our candidate can tell Hispanics that "under President Obama, Latinos have lost almost half their life savings and total worth. "

"It would be extremely depressing to think that simply having a hispanic person speaking conservative or republican ideas would be enough to overturn a huge quantity of history in that district. "

Actually, I'm kinda jazzed by the idea.

And what about the Democrat's presidential pool?  Hillary is the obvious choice.  But by 2016, she'll be 70.  She'll have Benghazi around her neck, and the parents of those who died showing up constantly on talk shows.  I'm not at all sure she'll think the presidency will be worth the effort.

And after Hillary, there's...who?  Slow Joe Biden?  Mario Cuomo?  I'd LOVE to see Mario on the debate stand, and asked about how he largely brought about the destruction of the US economy back when he ran HUD and strong armed Freddy and Fanny to convert 42% of their portfolio to sub-prime loans.

I check Daily Kos and Little Green Footballs every few days or so.  They remind me of Debbie Reynolds on the Merv Griffin Show back in the 60s, when she talked endlessly about the Golden Age of Hollywood, and how the studio heads took care of her.  (That ended when Debbie saw her daughter's royalty checks for "Star Wars".)

DK and LGF are fixated on Glen Beck and assuring their dwindling readers that we should trust the NSA.

Among my liberal Facebook friends, they're trying to find a way to blame Bush for what Obama is currently doing.

Actually, we have a particularly strong pool coming up.  Who was actually excited about Bob Dole, George W. Bush, Newt Gingrich or John McCain?

By "underrated" I assume you mean unheralded.

Lewis Black is a far left comedian whose act consists mostly of him screaming at the audience.

Not only was Ronald Reagan smarter than Fran, he was funnier.

This is the thing about AD - it's a show that doesn't lend itself to binge viewing.  It's one thing to watch Season Three of "Hawaii 50" over the weekend.  There's a lot of repetition, long stretches where nothing happens.  Arrested has three things going on every second.  Several days after ramming through the series, memories pop up that make me laugh - George Michael driving through a neighborhood being chased by an army of pedophiles.

Boys will not watch it.  A large segments of parents won't let their children watch it.    Those are two very big obstacles for any cartoon to overcome.
