"These are costumes."

Without that one little sentence, this would be a very scary story.

Vance Richards

"Hey, I want to too, but the giant talking penis said . . ."

Yeah, that's going to work. Who can object to having their tax dollars spent on that?

Vance Richards

If the babies were already dead, why would they cut their spines? Evidently the attending physician, the guy on trial, felt there was some scientific reason to believe the babies were alive.

I'm not going to give up my Christian values and I won't stop bringing them into the voting booth with me.

However, when given the choice between a latte at Starbucks or sorting through a month's worth of never ending posts about whether men should marry men, I have given up on the latter and will be drinking an extra cup of coffee each month from now on.

If only there were VED's (vocabulary enhancing drugs) that could do for his speech what PED's did for his hitting.

That 's quite a grudge. I understand there is quite a bit of animosity between the leather Elvises and the fat-jumpsuit Elvises*.

*or should that be Elvi?

Not JMR: Something has happened to Bill maher in recent months. I'm not sure what it is, but he has obviously become disillusioned with certain aspects of liberalism. · 4 hours ago

Maher hasn't changed. He has always been pro-Israel, which kind of forces you to be anti-Islamic terrorists. It is odd that opposing Islamic terrorism is so rare for liberals.

I still remember the first time I changed my son's diaper. He was about a week old and once I opened up the diaper I heard a swoosh and saw mustard colored goo shooting across the room, not stopping until it hit the wall six feet away. Without diapers, I would have seen that type of stuff all the time.

Edison, Bell, Jobs, all great inventors who made our lives better. But for those years few before my children were toilet trained, no inventor was more important to me than the guy who came up with Pampers.

Boycotts and termination of employment don't bother me when its private entities expressing their free speech rights, freedom of association and property rights.  If a government is doing it, then its another matter.

I have always considered boycotts to be a form of free speech, after all, money talks. Deciding what products to buy and who to buy them from is a completely free-market decision. How is that a bad thing in a free country?

Spud O'Chez: Our leaders don't need to call on God for others, but calling others to call on God.  Our defiance will be our undoing.  Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty, not new gun laws, new agencies or having people join hands and sing Kumbaya.

Is this another "harbinger":  the youths undermine the soft underbelly.  Yes, I'm reading through "The Harbinger" book, and this post ties in well with the message from the book. · 36 minutes ago

For something that was billed as a prayer service, it did seem to be more about defiance than crying out to God.

As for "The Harbinger", I attend Pastor Cahn's church so I have been hearing this message for years, long before it ever became a book. And for what it is worth, Obama did say "We build" as part of his speach at the Boston prayer service.

"Look, I got a photo op at some prayer sort of thing in Boston, so don't release the pictures of the suspects before that. I can't have these guys taking air time away from me."

Polygamy has historical precedent and biological purpose. Gay marriage has neither. So, if there really were some pressing need to change what marriage is, polygamy would have a leg up homosexual marriage.

Also, polygamy is still a union of one man with one woman it is just that a man can be in several of these relationships at the same time. The wives are not considered married to each other, so it not as if we are talking about group marriages.

However, if you take away the man/woman, husband/wife logic then two is really a completely arbitrary number. That would be a much bigger deal.

Vance Richards

It is good to see that we have overcome racial barriers. What was once a problem for "The Negro Family" is now impacting all of America. And for liberals, isn't it all about equality? For the rest of us though, did Moynihan's offer any solutions?

Vance Richards

It has been a few days since I first heard about the bombing, but seeing that picture above makes me feel even more anger and sadness than I did before. Maybe it is because the three kids in the front (the boy who was killed and two others who must have been injured to some degree) look to be in the same age range as my kids.

With a crime like this, don't look for a good answer to the question, why? Evil has no sense of logic.

Clinton will still blame Rush Limbaugh.
