Obama is the constant ruse ... not accidental but contrived ... its why he was "chosen" ... what's really happening,  implied here: http://www.conservativeactionalerts.com/2011/10/applied-hayek-socialism-vs-%E2%80%9Csocialism%E2%80%9D/  a piece by Steven Hayward, October 5, 2011.  Ben's right! We have to ignore the president's silly ways. We must tend to the business, i.e. focus, growing our response to what our good people in uniform are doing, their achievements and what they and we are going to do to keep America free.

Ben, You are right on point as usual.  Thanks.  'Enjoying the Transom.

The Church is founded in Christ, i.e. its beginning.  Thanks, Pseudodionysius, for pointing out the need for change.

Get members involved and be accessible when they have problems:  A member should be invited to give a short talk on the subject of the day perhaps prior to the official sermon, otherwise liturgy is ok,  and institute a Sunday school meeting in the following hour, composed of classes separated (by age.... nursery for babies, primary for the very young, young men organization, young women organization, and older men (married age and over) organization and older women (married age and older) organization)  where lay teachers from the respective group actually study to teach the bible passages of the week and discuss with everyone encouraged to participate.  That way it would be easier to understand what Jesus wants of us on an individual basis; it would confirm and impress the message given by the priest's sermon:  Members may want us to help one another in this way since clergy gets so  busy, don't you think?  We all need more clarity in what Jesus expects of us.

The young Catholic priest Martin Luther never recognized all the nuance  in Europe or the Church which you mention.  He was not a political entity in any way (though he has been made to seem that way, after the fact.)  My point is he could not forget what he did not know.  He lived a life of devotion to Christ and extreme penance in a monastary. Never having been to Rome, he idealized the place, i. e. Rome was sacred and the veritable center of all he held dear!  When he visited there however ... what did he SEE ? Do you know what Luther saw in Rome?  I don't have the space or the time to expound; please.  You  will just have to listen to RC's lectures on Luther and the Reformation if you are lucky enough to obtain a copy.  Having heard those, perhaps you will continue your dialogue with RC.  Who is RC?  Briefly, first and foremost he is a philosophy of religion professor with a disarming grasp of history, especially of Christ, and the meaning of scripture from the original documents. His work in Christian theology is highly regarded.

Stuffy and uncomfortable.

First, the Catholic Church needs to apologize to Martin Luther, while extensively explaining to its lay people the dilemma involved in that conundrum. Otherwise, I cannot fathom how the Catholic Church can survive the rigorous examination of its history that is permitted by current-day access ... not in the way Christ would have it. From the start, i.e. the death of the apostles, they have built on a less than firm foundation, recognized by Martin Luther as he tried to do a course correction (and who, by the way, wasn't perfect either, but that is beside the point, since next to Christ, who is? Yet, Luther did what needed to be done at the time.) Luke 14:29, and R. C. Sproul, Luther and the Reformation, Ligonier.org, lecture series

'glad to come across your inquiry!  It is common in the "alinsky" weltanschauung to see liberals/progessives taking things/words held dear and turning it on its ear, though, not the first to employ methods to diminish others in quest for social engineering and control. In John Adams by McCullough, Adams expressed early concerns, possibly clues to such American experience.
