While I find NPR and PBS as distasteful as Mr. Koler does, it is surprising to hear someone call out a cease and desist on Rob Long. This IS still America and free speech remains one of our primary objectives – at least last time I checked. I would caution Long though, if only from the position NPR took with Juan Williams when he became a liability to them.I completely agree with the call for stopping all government support, they should and most likely will be able to support their endeavors on private donations.
The communists and socialists in this country never went away, they went underground. We saw it in the changes in Hollywood and the messages in movies when patriotism went out the door and hatred for anything capitalism came in...a recurring theme in movies these days. Academia was another place the silvertails, as Breitbart so accurately called them, took refuge. Bill Ayers was very instrumental in changing the course of the American academic structure and dialogue. And, of course, the media has been hand-in-hand with it all. By controlling most of the microphones, the media controlled the national conversation. We simply were asleep at the wheel as they lay low, waiting for their opportunity. Political correctness was one of the weapons they used to silence conservatives and we went along with it. But all of that is changing. Hopefully people, now that they recognize the real threat to our society, will have the backbone to see this through. If conservative national leaders run for cover, the people are the ones that will have to take up the battlecry, which is what we are seeing everywhere now. Time to stand and act for what we believe in.
Gotta love it when the free market works as intended.
Unfortunately, there is no room for 'civility' in today's political world. By clinging to civility Republicans have traditionally run away from the national conversation & allowed Democrats to cast vile, slanderous untruths that are left unresponded to, therefore allowing the American public to gradually believe the lies that are left unaswered. If we are going to recapture the White House and Congress we need to wade into the debate. That will mean getting our hands dirty. Does that mean we sink to their level? Absolutely not. What it does mean is that we will have to hold the line..take a few bullets..and then give it right back to them. NOT with lies or scorched-earth tactics, but with the truth. We cannot cow if they throw out a word like 'racist' if we disagree with them. We must stand tall, knowing we have the truth as our weapon and hold the line...hold it here and let them gain NO more ground. It won't be easy. War never is. This is definitely a war & if we don't fight, we will lose our precious country.
