I've always been a conservative.  I'm not sure where it came from either.  Neither of my parents pay attention to politics.

Perhaps, however, it came from my Dad teaching us from a young age about responsibility and hard work.  He worked hard, he expected me to.  I hated hearing about being "responsible" as a kid, but it was sufficiently drilled into my head that I was responsible for me, no one else was.  What ever I wanted I had to work for, as nothing was just handed to us.  I had a job at 14, and I've been unemployed only a very short time in the intervening years.

Now I'm almost 42, with two boys (13 and 10), and my oldest is becoming a very vocal conservative.  He makes me proud.

Thanks for the reminder; I need to get tickets to their Dallas show.

I love TSO!  This is a house not far from me that puts on the show every year.  I'm sure his neighbors love the traffic.

Romney's gonna win.  Fear not.

A close race generates page views and ratings for the news business.  Keep that in mind.

Isn't the Vice President also the President of the Senate?  Does that still technically make Joe Biden a Senator?

He's does seem to have been feeling his oats lately...

For Democrats, manufacturing jobs equal union jobs.

The Democrats are simply nostalgic for the day when unions had significant influence on election day.

I have deserved every speeding ticket I've been given.  Except one.

Driving down the interstate, keeping up with traffic, we passed a State Trooper sitting on the shoulder.  I ignored him, kept going. A short time later, I glance in the rear view mirror, and there he is!  I move to the center lane, and he follows... then the lights come on.

Wondering what I did, I move to the shoulder.  Now, at the time I drove a bright red Roush edition F-150, lowered with chrome wheels.  It was a hot looking pickup.  In it was myself, my Dad, and my 3 year old son.

The cop walks up to the window, and immediately has an attitude.  I ask what I did, he claims I was speeding.  I ask to see the radar, he gets downright rude.  A minute later, he hands me a ticket for 72 in a 60.  No freaking way!

So I opted for court appearance, did research on the Crown Victoria acceleration and simple algebra, and proved there was no way he could have paced me 1/2 mile that he claimed.  Then, he didn't show up.  I was bummed.

Obama in the Situation Room, Obama in New Jersey touring the remains of Sandy, Obama talking platitudes on TV....

Nope, none of that was political.

Visiting the Tomb and watching the changing of the guard was the highlight of our visit to DC 18 months ago.  These are unbelievably dedicated soldiers.

Someone check Ms. Kagan's upper arm.  Does she also have a trashy tattoo?

Thanks to Sandy, I get to spend the week at home with my family.  My flight to La Guardia this morning was cancelled.

So there are a few bright spots in this storm.

"Don't Mess with Texas"

That was more than an anti-littering campaign.

Perhaps ABC should spend a little time investigating all the solar companies Obama tried to help.

Oh, never mind.

I love Twitter, but as I've said here before, it is almost a completely political free zone.  Most of the people I follow are non-political, and my tweets are almost completely non-political.  There's way more to life than what happens in that septic system called Washington DC.

I'm @LivingNTexas.

What an honor, Dave.  Congratulations!  You deserve to drive such a great truck.

And thanks to Schneider National for making the commitment.

The country lost because of such a stupid "debate" format.

When was the last time SNL was funny?  1961?  Geeze, that was lousy.
