Ok, Cylon. How would you propose proving that you are correct? Are you going to try and tell me that The Lady of the Lake extended Excalibur from her bosom and made you King? ( kudos to Monty Python ). Just being contrary is not an argument.

Let's all get on board with Ted Cruz in Texas. Love you, HRH, here in the Lowcountry.

Wow. Lots of haters out there. It is not for everyone and some of their stuff is indulgent and egomaniacal, but Summerteeth, Jesus Don't Cry, The Thanks I Get are good and their actual musician skills are pretty stellar. Reminds me of when my piano professor in college reprimanded me for saying that I hated Wagner's Operas. He said that I didn't appreciate them and saying otherwise made me sound ignorant.

The Outlaw Josey Wales.      Maybe the best collection of singular lines delivered by Clint Eastwood in his life.

"Worms gotta eat; buzzards too."

I was just chatting on Sunday night about this while watching the Gourds perform here in Charleston. I always dug Son Volt more. They felt more pure. That being said, I love YHF and A.M. (passenger side is my fave). I have been fortunate to see them both twice and Uncle Tupelo once. My fave band over the last 20 years though is the underrated CRACKER starring david lowery and Johnny Hickman.

Got a chance to see him on the Letterman show in 1994.  Tore it up.

I have never understood these guys. Whether it is Kim or Saddam or the other Member's Only guys; they all seem immune to routine debauchery. Seems like Kim could get Coors Light to sponsor and paint the rocket and then  have it explode and spray Coors Light everywhere. He and Coors could make millions selling Coors Light in North Korea.

Saddam etc. could have just left when we asked. He could have bought the Orlando Magic and gotten Chris Paul to play there. The President of Iran could easily make millions from Member's Only.

All they would have to do is quit killing people and threatening the world. Are sports, girls and beer just not enough anymore?

Oh yeah, they're crazy.

So liberals support card check for union voting, but oppose Voter ID laws? Do I have that right?

raycon: One must assume that you are not kidding.

Do you REALLY believe that these two quota fems are actually independent brains?

Oh, no wonder we are in trouble.  The "conservative" universe is populated by children. · 11 minutes ago

Perhaps you should read some of my other posts. That being said, even these Justices must have some pride regardless of the topic. To be talked down to by President Obama must be humiliating.

I was getting ready to finally be able to leave work early on a friday. Aaagh. I just saw this. As a politically active physician, I am horrified that this is even up for discussion on Ricochet. That is not the way to run a free market. The government and medicaid and medicare are the problem. Giving them one dollar or a zillion dollars will not change a thing. Just because Fried worked for Reagan does not make him Reagan's proxy.  Medicare and Medicaid balance their budgets by refusing services and cutting reimbursement. Private insurance companies, not taxpayers are what allows the system to actually function. Medical providers can actually get paid and fill in the shortfall. I say get rid of Medicare and Medicaid, allow competition and low cost policies and subsidize those that cannot afford a policy. Get the government out.  Now, I am leaving work angry.

This guy is such a joke. As if I was not mortified enough by his comments, I was more so by the readers' comments on the NYT article. These robots appear to have no idea that petroleum is used for more than fuel. I would pull my car into my garage and leave it running if gasoline weren't so expensive. We are doomed.

Gingrich has a pretty strong headwind of his own making. We need to improve our message delivery system. The Democrats are easy targets for humor.

Andrew

Yes. Rob Long lamented to Thomas Sowell that we needed more of an identity than to just oppose Government Goodies. Bill Kristol stated that Reagan and Clinton defeated incumbents by being bold and articulate. I believe that there is a significant percentage of people that would vote for conservatives if we articulated our message using plain spoken education and humor. Can most members of this site articulate how the "commerce clause" functions and why? If not, why not? I love the super smart cats on this site like Dr. Rahe and Paul Ryan. I know what they mean, but do the vast majority of people that can only understand the "fair share" or "tax cuts for the rich" arguments?I like my "They crucified Filburn for planting a garden and now they want to crucify you for not planting one. How is that legal?"Entertain people and give them the simple ammunition to articulate and defend their message in one sentence. It is a tactic and we are not doing it.

Andrew

The key element of freedom is choice. Our liberty depends on our right to choose whether or not to do something. If you choose not to pay for auto insurance, then you can choose not to buy a car. The majority of things that we feel infringed upon by the government are those things in which we have no choices. Obamacare is the pinnacle of our loss of freedom, because it destroys our ability to choose. There.

57. Growing up in the south helps. I worked in a real service station for years part time. I have a pick up.
