1) I'll never buy a new GM vehicle. -- But I wouldn't have before now, anyway.

Destin / Fort Walton Beach, FL.  IMHO best in the US.

At some point, some administration official in the West will blame the murder on the news report of the murder posted on YouTube.

Flapjack

Can the sides separate?  I mean, one side take the east of the Appalachians and the other the west?

Flapjack

Really.  At this point, what difference does it make?  (/sarcasm)

Having lived and taught in Texas, I often wonder if, when folks point to the state as a bastion of conservatism, they have any knowledge of Texas' public education system.  It's much, much more "progressive" than most would suspect.

Somehow, I can't hear a young boy or or girls saying, "Dad/Mom, I want to join the It Scouts!"

Joseph Eagar: Is the bill actually going to pass?  I just don't see how California can afford it.  This sort of thing can rapidly drive healthcare costs through the roof. · 10 minutes ago

To paraphrase Clint Eastwood (in Unforgiven):  Afford's got nothin' to do with it.

Israel P. - I might go a step further.  Because our recent national tendency is to nationalize/universalize so many things, especially "health coverage", I doubt it will be too long before other states are pushed toward funding similar efforts -- or it such become part of our federalized health insurance.

I read a post yesterday in which Adam Carolla said that legalizing gay marriage won't end the controversy.  Indeed, it would only metastasize and spread into a multitude of "debates".

May I suggest the following from Joseph Conrad:

Victory

The Secret Agent

Lord Jim

Always fight fair.  No personal attacks by either person.

Indeed - universalization increases demonstrations of polarization.

I would not wish that on us (and I don't think you would or are, either).  But it does seem to be the way of things.

Mr. Graham's reaction is another reason to like and respect Senator Paul.

A re-cap of the groups that might be considered "terrorists" would be a good thing.  A listing happened at some time around 3-4 Pacific time, but repetition is the mother of pedagogy.

Flapjack

I would say: Follow Paul's lead.  Have a consistent, concise, easily explainable message / question / position and cover it from all angles consistently, concisely, and persistently.  Do so on the floor in both the House and Senate as much of the rules allow...and then some (if possible).  The electorate will listen, will pay attention, and will be motivated.
