Tom Meyer: This seems like a good opportunity to plug The Teaching Company. ยท 4 hours ago

Tom I was typing this as you posted.  I have listened to multiple courses by Robert Greenberg and find he draws me into a subject I never had exposure to other than quiet time at my grandparents.  I am now taking my wife and seven year old to hear classical music starting in the new year.  The sections are great for those like me that have a 45 minute commute.

If the story is true, I would expect a Christie pit bull like reaction within the next 24 hours.  Just thinking about this got me excited to see the youtube video of that scene.

I am a Texan who has volunteered the last two days in Florida around my work schedule.  Volunteers at the office where I was located were coming into work even the 9-12 shift weekday when not many people are home.  As the afternoon/evening rolled around, volunteers were coming straight from school and work and filling the large volunteer office.

I made 300 calls over two days and was shocked at how many were committing to work this weekend to get people out for early voting in Florida.  I feel like the path looks good to drive home a win here (not taking for granted).

Let's get the same thing done in Ohio were the newest NBC poll shows a dead heat and Romney leading among independents by~10.  I have 8 fellow Texans from a town of 34,000 that flew out to Ohio to work over the next two weeks and one person was asked to go to Iowa instead of coming here to FLorida.  Moving in the right direction!

With Obama consistently below 50% and in many of the polls down at 47 or 48%, I think the momentum continues to build for Mitt.  I have found the independent breakdown the most interesting trend which shows large margins for Romney.  I am headed back to Florida this week to work and volunteer on the side for Romney and Mack. Two weeks ago I was at a union shop manufacturing facility and the individuals were raising money for Romney and Mack.  HArd to believe but they know their business is dead with the Obama EPA.

I thought that Christie and Ann Romney were a good ying/yang combination.  At first, I was a little put off by the nervous lap of Romney but then she hit stride and was great.  I thought Christie was just fiesty enough that he could appeal to people across the spectrum.  I agree with Mel Foil that Romney needs a chief of staff that has characteristics of Christie.  I would have loved to see more red-meat but the convention is more than just the convention hall.

Need to get to the corners

Personal Responsibilty -- The individual is not responsible for themselves or their family anymore.  Government, parents, neighbors, churches and the rich should take care of us seems to be the mantra of the day.  Tom Roberts is correct that this is aided and abetted by the size of Federal Government.

If every person was responsible for putting food on the table and their own future, would we need welfare, medicaid, medicare, social security, AFDC and the multitude of other programs at the same level they are now or projected to be in the future.

This would kick start growth and many other positive changes in my opinion.
