I keep forgetting to make my larger point. The removal was bad enough. What was worse was that there was no mention of the removal. Every reference to it was scrubbed from the website. Sorry to harp on this. I just prefer my narrative less controlled. It's been real.
Gee, such tender feelings. I'm not really working on a manifesto, that was sarcasm. I'm trying to discuss what I see as a continuing problem on the conservative side of the aisle. I feel there is a modicum of distaste here and among establishment Republicans with acertain kind of conservative woman politician. I'm sorry if I was unclear about the "certain kind" part. Heather Higgins post added to that impression. It alleged that Michele Bachmann ignored other House candidates in favor of her own candidacy & did not show at a scheduled engagement without explanation.
But more importantly, in my opinion, the post was pulled with no explanation. At first the post disappeared; later, even the title was gone from the author's contributions. The title had to be wiped too?
I see that since I've pushed it you've indicated it was pulled at the author's request.
I'm sorry, I don't find it acceptable. The post was there. Members had commented. That you would "disappear" it with no comment or explanation strikes me as wrong. Is this what Ricochet is about? Am I the only one bothered by this?
OT but what am I to do with my outrage from the response I was preparing to the Heather Higgins' post How NOT to Succeed in Politics: On Bachmann and Blowing It in which I jump to Michele's defense by explaining that she was the #1 House Republican Representative targeted by the Dems? The post has completely disappeared off the site.
Has Ricochet become the victim of Censorship? Should I bring up Helen Thomas and Rick Sanchez <sarc>?
And how can I add it to my manifesto, "Richchet Women Editors and Their Barely Disguised Loathing for Conservative Women Pols" if it has disappeared? What a gyp (is that racist?).

This is the 2nd week in a row I've been unable to listen to the podcast. I've written to support but no response - interns busy with all the kudos I guess. Tried 3 different browsers and it won't play in the RSS feed or in iTunes either (older podcasts play fine, newer ones say file could be corrupt or may not be iTunes format). I'm running Windows 7. Any suggestions?
OT but from a purely anecdotal perspective, I found the local GOP operation on the ground useless. Three weekends in a row working for Toomey & Meehan (PA-7) the GOP managed a total of 5 volunteers for door-to-door work while the local tea party provided over 50 people. Shoddy operation all around.
People's reactions are affected by incendiary headlines like the one on this conversation. My point is we should try to unify our side not divide it at this point. We should hold the GOP accountable but not split it in half. · Nov 4 at 8:33am
I am on cloud 9. I've never in my life been involved in the political process until last year. Since then I've been on a bus trip rally to DC, attended meetings, worked on phone banks, distributed political flyers, knocked on doors and worked outside of a polling place.
And as an added bonus, my 3 candidates, Meehan PA-7, Corbett PA Governor and Toomey US Senate won! It was very hard work, harder than I ever imagined and it won't stop there. But today I'm on cloud 9 and I feel hopeful for the country because the power of the Democrat machine in PA is a force to be reckoned with.
And when I think about Harry Reid I remind myself what it would've been like to see & listen to Chucky Schumer. And then, as the song says, then I don't feel so bad.
Jeanne Patterson: Gotta agree with you. It was painful to watch. · Nov 3 at 7:55am
OMG! Jeanne? Is that you or did someone hijack your Ricochet account?
That's funny because I'm not much of a Palin fan. I certainly don't want to see her run for the presidency nor do I think her qualified. I do like what she's doing now by fielding candidates. But what I really dislike is the constant snark, the sniping and obsessing the she engenders. Especially by women. And especially by conservative women. I never cease to be amazed at how Palin lives inside peoples' heads and by the resulting and incessant chorus of "Now look what she said/did".
The reaction to conservative women candidates among conservatives, especially conservative women, is thought-provoking indeed.
Gotta agree with you. It was painful to watch. You can imagine Obama sitting there letting Ahmadinejad spew on endlessly in much the same way. A person with the power & presence & skills we need would not have allowed that to happen, respect for the aged aside.
