Consider this.... George McGovern wrote this Op Ed in the WSJ ... it was then read into the Congressional record.  I send it to many if my liberal friends... sometimes for them... sometimes it just makes me feel good.  It was courageous of McGovern to write this... but after 24 years in public office.... he finally got a clue when he went to work for a living....

Well said!  As a former long time resident of California... all I can say is I miss the weather... but I don't miss the state legislature.   Every time I think of going back I read an article, or a post like this and I return to sanity.  However being in tech... I may end up back there anyway.

Greetings All,

I understand the weather, travel and traffic may make things difficult; however for those willing to make the trip we are still on.  4 Green Fields 4:30PM ish.  I will likely get there 4:45PM or so depending on parking and traffic.  There is a Publix Supermarket about a half block away that usually has parking.  The pub itself has a small lot out back.  Hope to see you there!!!

I did see Prager and Carolla Saturday night.... Very funny!  Hope they stop by... but don't hold your breath... unless you look really good in blue.

Cheers,

- John

Thomas,

Thanks for the notes... as no RSVP is required I doubt if I will be able to tell you ahead of time.  Hopefully we will draw a good crowd.  I am hoping the GOP convention is a draw... my goal is 20 or so... so we'll see.  Any support is welcome!  Thanks.

Regards,

- John

Apologies.... I forgot that Mr. Murdoch is a bit of a stickler on that.  - JM

I hope Salim Mansur is right if Newt gets the nod.  I like Newt, I respect his intellect and I wish more would remember our history so that we need not repeat it.  Newt used to be my guy... but he is too much the politician... and his arrogance is staggering.  So... I will hold my nose and vote for him, as I did with McCain, but I think Romney is more honest, trustworthy, and hard working than Newt.  I still believe these things count for something.  I know this will get some howls... but I think Romney is going to be more Reagan than most.  Reagan was not the party's first choice, he was Governor of a liberal state, and he said and did some things that made the established republicans think he was unreliable and dangerous.  Now everyone speaks of Reagan as a deity.  Time will tell... you heard it here first... Romney will be the better President.
