Fred Cole: there's a big difference between the entrepreneur, the bold risk taker who makes difficult decisions, and the prole who works as a janitor and mops the floor, right?

You do get that not everyone is a bold risk taker, don't you? For every one entrepreneur who starts a business there is an exponential number of employees who work for them. Are you telling me that we don't matter?

Drones themselves don’t gather the intelligence

That's funny.  The Sheriff in Alameda County (CA) is trying to convince the residents that drones are great tactical devices.

Maybe we should ask Doyle McManus of the LA Times whose mom is being trumpeted as "a genuine swing voter... a one-woman reality check Congress and the political parties could be worse than heed her counsel."

Apparently she voted for Reagan four times and for Obama twice.  She decided not to vote for McCain because of Palin ("If he had that kind of judgment, forget it.")

If we can get her opinion about Christie, it might show whether he has any traction.

Larry3435: While I care about Benghazi, I don't care about the "scandal." ...It is so obvious that the Obama Administration made up a cover story for the attack, without the least regard to the truth of that cover story, that I cannot comprehend all of this "investigation."

While it may be obvious to you and to people who're paying attention, the ramifications of Benghazi still have not registered to the average American or to low information voters. The investigation allows the events (lies, cover-up) to be kept front and center. As time goes on and more information becomes available, the rest of the media have trouble ignoring it. What happened in Benghazi was a tragedy and what happened at home afterward was a farce. Americans deserve to know who their leaders are, what decisions they make (or refuse to make), and just what lengths they will go to to cover their a**es. At least one of the players here may be a candidate for President in 2016 and that person's character and actions matter a great deal.

ConservativeWanderer: Let me ask everyone here this:

If Jindal turns out to be the 2016 nominee, are you going to vote for him, or sit at home? · 8 hours ago

Yes, I'd vote for him.  Maybe Stupid Party is too harsh, but Seriously Outmanuvered Party is spot on.  Romney & McCain losses prove that the Republicans have no clue.  As much as I hate to say that, as a Republican I know it's true. I'm tired of candidates who bring knives to gunfights. Get real, get a clue.  What you've done in the past IS NOT WORKING.

Before tonight, I asked "who is Rob Portman." Now, Rob Portman rocks the GOP.  I wish Christie had been half as confrontational.

Prince Harry: Welcome to your mother's world... in which friends, acquaintances, passers-by will sell you out for their 15 minutes of fame.

The best part of this story is that Harry is soooo much hotter than his stupid, priggish father ever was. Diana's genes rule!

I've started to think that political squabbles between spouses are proxy wars for other discontents

Well said J.D.  For 16 years, my husband and I agreed to disagree.  It's too easy to go for the political jugular vein when you're angry about other issues.

I never tried to convert my husband because I knew that it was hopeless: he had to come to the realization himself.  After 20 years, that has gradually happened. The biggest impetus? He lost his job and can't find another full-time job.  He's been unemployed or under-employed for four years. He not only began to question himself and his beliefs, but to look at the childish, utopian nonsense that permeates Baghdad-by-the-Bay. He re-registered as "No Party Preference" this year and is supporting Romney.  And here I thought that pigs would never fly!

"Then Rep. McClintock tried to get rid of the DOE loan guarantee program -- the very program that brought us Solyndra.  He even got Dennis the Menace Kucinich to co-sponsor.  This time 127 Republicans voted to maintain the program."

I have been a McClintock supporter for more than 10 years.  He is a true conservative.  Why aren't their more like him?  I mean "real conservatives" not just faux-conservative Tea Party, Paulian, birther kooks.

Priceless Photoshop.  Thanks for starting my morning off with a laugh.

Maybe we should have a PAC to support the best conservative candidates, considering the poor quality of some of the recent female failures:  Meg Whitman, Carly Fiorina, Sharron Angle, Christine O'Donnell.

My concern is that the media did not mention it or discuss it the way they did George Bush's alcohol use.

That being said, if smoking marijuana as a youthful "lark" disqualifies someone from ever becoming President, then several whole generations of people are disqualified.

The trick is not to have anyone photograph you using it, not to brag about it in print.  Which probably will disqualify many in the Facebook generation.

The correct spelling is "propaganda." You should fix your title.

My wife and I have been convinced poor Sally would embrace the hippie lifestyle and wind up somewhere like Haight-Ashbury.

No, I think she will end up in the Castro... as a feminist lesbian.

If the global finance industry melts down, will it matter who ranks where?

I had someone do this to me in Berkeley.  Are you sure you want to emulate Occupiers, anarchists, and street people?
