Excellent. It's a start.
My huge lilac bush is in full bloom; started about 10 days ago. It's been cool the last few days, so they're holding on. Weather forecast the next few days has a day in the high 70s and it may spell their end. *Sniff*
I love a long, cool, wet spring, mainly because it let's the lilacs take their time.
Thanks, Fred. And RushBabe, spring in the PacNW is THE BEST!
Very cool. Thanks for posting, Yeti. And to the naysayers, c'mon, lighten up!
"Concerns." Really? Ya' think?! Yes, I'm with you, Clark. Chilled. The world really is, as Melanie Phillips says, turned upside down.
Another double! What's up?
Nah...I'll go for something literary. Give me some time.
duplicate post, sorry
Can I get one of those royal Casey's at Amazon? I am notoriously uncreative with nick-names (note my Ricochet handle)--I'm a scientist for gosh sake! But I do love the idea of being a royal. I'll have to think on it for a while. Any thoughts from any of you? Maybe my husband (the artist and chess master) will have an idea. But first, to Amazon!
Caryn: Late to the discussion, but I want to give kudos to Paules, Bemused Canuck, and Robert Lux for a well argued presentation.
Repeating some version of "it's unnatural" over and over again isn't an argument. Even if you use big words. · 10 minutes ago
And repeating some version of "waah! It's not fair" over and over isn't an argument either. Regardless of how many times you say it or how shrill the whine.
Then again, just like a spoiled child finds out that whining often works with weak willed parents, you might just bully yourself what you want. Doesn't make it right or good for society.
And, BTW, some version of "it's unnatural" is exactly the appropriate argument and since it's the one you can't answer, you resort to name calling. Fine, call away. I'm beyond being bullied. And make no mistake, you are a bully.

I have avoided most discussions on this topic, particularly since one recent one began with GFL saying, "I reject your definition of marriage." Well, then. Not sure how the thread got as long as it did since it rapidly devolved to people arguing past each other.
This discussion is around biology and politics (BTW, read Ron Radosh on "Progressive" undermining of social structures--he knows from within), rather than religion, and absent the straw "guy in the sky" to ridicule, GFL has had to resort to nastiness, ad hominem, snarkiness, and twisting his interlocutors' arguments to say what they weren't. I'm amazed anyone continues these discussions. I quit when Zafar called me a bigot for saying homosexuality was biologically disordered, since the reproductive parts weren't working as purposed. Heavens!
I really don't care what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own homes. I just don't want to hear about it. Endlessly. It's unseemly. Which is also its own kind of exhibitionistic perversion.
Painting of me, by my husband. I like it better than any recent photos.
With you on Cheney. His photo should be next to the dictionary definition. Rumsfeld, too; I agree with WI Con. Sadly, I don't see much of it any more. Seems to have gone out with the tide of WWII vets. In Romney, and GW Bush, I see an adult manliness that's also sorely lacking among our self-interested careerists. Ryan, Cruz, maybe Kasich in Ohio, have some of that maturity. Don't know about Rubio any more. Rookie mistakes? Those can be career killers.
Cool. I'm honored.
Well, then, by all means sign me up. My credit card was hacked, so I can't purchase anything until it's reissued. Can I get in with a promise?
