Was the evidence really against Clemens or just the word of a trainer who was already in trouble and needing to "name names" to lighten his own load?  Was there ever any physical evidence?  There were claims about saved needles; were they shown to contain both the drugs and Clemens' DNA?  Saving his own reputation, indeed!

I agree with you 100% about who the real crooks and liars are in this case.  How is it so many enter Congress with middle-class net worth and manage to leave as multi-millionaires on salaries of ~$150K?  What a farce and what a huge waste of our tax dollars.

etoiledunord, I don't quite understand the quote.  Do you really mean religious motivations of the victims?  Should that be of the perpetrators?  That makes more sense to me and makes the whole thing make more sense.  If I'm wrong, could you or someone elaborate?

What she says about porn is particularly interesting.  I've always been disgusted at the exploitation and objectification of women (and the general grossness of the whole thing, but let's not go there), but never looked at what it does to men.  Very interesting.  Is this something the men among us can address?  Within the Ricochet Code?

Ran into some of those letter vs spirit answers.  How to count a hometown of <50K people when it's the state capital?  Of Alaska?  Anyhow, military service kept me from a really low score.  I still came in at 22.  Husband got 46.  Do I get credit for him? 

The conversation about media male role models was important.  As has been suggested, I agree that there seems to be some deliberateness to it.  I also agree with the person who suggested "Blue Bloods."  Heck, any family, fictional or otherwise, with the hunky, politically conservative, Tom Selleck as the patriarch is worth supporting.  Naming them Reagan is just gravy!  The Booth character on "Bones" is also good.  Certainly manly enough (FBI agent, military sniper, David Boreanaz) and a pretty devout Catholic.  Well, besides the sex outside marriage behavior...  Funny how normalized that has become.
