Her Rights aims to promote the right to gun ownership, free market principles, and school choice through education, advocacy, and training. We endorse political candidates who are committed to defending the second amendment, supporting deregulation in the private sector, and encouraging initiatives that give women the right to choose where they want their children to attend school. We support programs that provide women with hands-on weapons training for their own protection and that foster self-reliance. We promote instruction of economic principles and business models to young women in high schools, and we aim to educate mothers in lower income areas about the importance of school choice. Through these and other initiatives, Her Rights seeks to encourage the principles of liberty, personal responsibility, and individual rights among American women to secure a better and more free future for all.

The trouble with any such message is actual history.  If it was not the republican that proposed the patriot act, this pill would be easier to swallow.

@Slate

(not blank, imho)

Just generally tired of the lamentation posts.

Why not volunteer to read at the local library, pick books that tell the stories you want to tell?   If they are important to you, and you won't tell them, then who will?

Barkha Herman

Who's we white slate?

Clearly everyone on Ricochet is not repeating history.  So what can "we" do?

I know.  We should all find a forum of like minded people and complaint in echo chambers.

Let me ask you something, slate, what are you doing about it?

Barkha Herman

Initially it was just good to find people that I agreed with.  Later, I got posting.  Then attending events.  Then starting my organization.  Now - I still read, comment less and post even less.  I've reached the point where it's still good to hear people discuss and hash out ideas, but I am not as interested in rhetoric as in action.

I do tire of the outrage and the lore of the good old days...

However, Ricochet was a catalyst for me to do something, so for that I am grateful.

You probably already know this, but if you go, be sure to bring your gear and head out to Red Rocks, just west of Vegas. Excellent year-round climbing. · 7 hours ago

Yes, that's why Vegas is always an option; if the conference does not work out, there is always opportunities to climb.  Icebox Canyon is still climbable in July :-D.

I am not sure I understand your question.  For the record, I've never been - so if I end up going, it will be a new experience for me as well.  The site goes into some details.  You may find some answers there.

FreedomFest is an annual festival where free minds meet to celebrate “great books, great ideas, and great thinkers” in an open-minded society.  It is independent, non-partisan, and not affiliated with any organization or think tank.  Founded and produced by Mark Skousen since 2002, FreedomFest invites the “best and the brightest” from around the world to talk, strategize, socialize, and celebrate liberty.  FreedomFest is open to all and is purely egalitarian, where speakers, attendees, and exhibitors are treated as equals.

From the site :-D.

:-D  I doubt you have to leave the hotel in Vegas if you don't want to.

I sat through a presentation by Foundation for Government Accountability,  that researches these things at the local tea party group event.  The bottom line with Az was that they expanded Medicaid with a down payment from the feds, such that if they had no gone with Obamacare, they would have a majority off people dropping off medicaid and nowhere to go.

Here's the presentation, with number etc.  The speaker, the CEO, was fantastic.  Please share, and promote his work.

A devil's bargain, and can kicked down the road for more off the same.

Bob Laing:   That said, no crying....ever.  Male or female, it makes you look weak and ridiculous. · 4 hours ago

I can't help it - people around me are just weak.  I do agree thought - they need to stop crying!

Denise- the "tricorder" challenge is thanks due to the efforts of Peter Diamandis, the guy who, after finding out that the Lindbergh flight was the result of a contest,  start the Ansari X-Prize challenge, essentially pushing space travel out of Government monopoly.

Now he is focused on the Tricorder x-prize.

If you ever want to be inspired, read his book Abundance.

Peter inspires me.

I remember watching the video when it was new.  The guy who makes it is Andy Cobb.  He is hardly a partisan.
