Go - you'll get to see and visit with all the cousins and relatives you do like.

Plus there might be an open bar.  Bring a thermos.

Saturday the 25th works for me.

Scott Reusser: "Overall character is that of a sex-loaded scarlet; endowed, jaunty and erotically scented with every part smelling and tasting provocative, flamboyant and blooming."

At first, I thought this might be a review of the first Clinton presidency.  Hopefully, we will never have to review a second one......

The AP scandal is the only one that could do it.  My guess is that this hit the press pretty hard.

Have fun coaching your son's team.  Two pieces of advice:  make any kid that thinks baseball is boring the catcher; and have an older boy teach them to slide - don't try and show them yourself.

My son is twenty, and we still talk about how much fun we had when he was playing little league and I helped coach his team.

Now that I think of it - a third piece of advice:  avoid the nutty fathers, and don't let them help coach the team.

Theology is probably the least important aspect for most folks when they are looking for a church, odd as that may seem.

Richard -- I don't argue that this is not the case for you and for many, but not the case for me, or for Catholics in general. In general, Catholics look for the nearest Catholic church because that is where they can receive the sacraments, especially the Eucharist.

Those of us that are deep in our faith, and grew up in the church, will look for our traditional church home when we move to a new area.

What is fascinating to me is those folks that are unchurched, and get the yearning for something deeper for either themselves or their children.  What are they looking for?  What is it like to walk into a strange church on a Sunday morning?  Imagine sitting through a Mass with no sense or idea what is going on.  The Episcopalians and Lutherans have bulletins to follow, and usually better music.

The differences between denominations are deep and profound, and of little interest (I think) to those looking for some sort of spiritual or religious connection.

It is fascinating to me about what draws people toward Unitarianism, or Lutheranism, or Catholicism, etc.  What do local churches offer the person seeking out a worship experience, or a community experience, or a place to have their children taught about the faith?

Some churches work hard at catering to the seekers, some just are what they are.

Addams Family should be on the list as it is still played at every baseball game sooner or later.

Honorable mentions should include Bonanza and The Flintstones.

Regular use of a GPS changed my driving habits.  Weaving in and out of traffic saves me almost no time on short trips, and very little on long trips.  The best way to arrive at an appointment on time is to leave early enough to get there.

I am usually content with the flow of traffic in the through lanes.  If the road is wide open - I usually set the cruise control about 12 miles above the highway speed.

Pentecost?  Too much to do that Sunday unless it is late.

Ah, he's okay.

Richard O'Shea: He should run here in Maryland.

We need him worse than Michigan....... · 15 minutes ago

Take this in the spirit in which it's intended.  Maryland doesn't deserve him, but Michigan might.  If Michigan can pass a right-to-work bill, they might be ready for a conservative to represent them in the senate.  Let me know when Maryland finds its Gov. Snyder · 0 minutes ago

Michigan may be the better choice.  Where would he be most likely to be elected to the Senate?  He is very well known and popular here, especially in Baltimore City.

Would he be viewed as a carpetbagger candidate in Michigan?  Mikulski is not due to stand for re-election until 2016, and we just put Cardin back in until 2018.

Now I'm depressed.
