Rob, candidates in many (most?) states are selected by primary--not by the Republican Party--so some blame for poor candidates must be apportioned to the primary voters.

As in my home state of California, we have the government that the NEA has trained our fellow citizens to want and expect. 

Until we reclaim the schools from the unions, we are well and truly screwed.
