Plan 9 from Outer Space - you can't appreciate good movies unless you've seen some turkeys.

"Plan 9 from Outer Space" is the epitome  of cinematic art, no?

Igor Panarin in 2008 predicted that the US would break up after an economic crisis. He was wrong about the time and many details, but increasingly he appears correct about the polarization causing severe strife. Prepare for a red state republic? Try to weather it out and hope for a rebound in freedom and sanity later? Learn Russian or Chinese and hope for the best?

Yutch

I sincerely hope that the prediction is correct, but I fear that Stalin's statement is more accurate. "It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything. "

It is actually quite simple. It is the Texas Tall Tale. We Texans grow up going camping and such with the scouts. We sit around the campfire with the coyotes howling listening to stories like how the cows in Amarillo froze to death during a heat wave in August. You just learn to tell when a good storyteller is 'funnin' with you by the twinkle in his eye and that sly grin that is almost invisible on his lips.

Ain't no politician ever made who can learn that twinkle and grin when he is a lying. We just don't give them no ground.

Maybe you are wondering about old Landslide Lyndon. Like my daddy said. "Son, I vote for him every chance I get. It keeps him out of the state and lessens the harm he can do to us."

We did used to vote for Democrats because after the War of Northern Aggression, lots of those Republicans came in trying to tell us what to do. We just don't cotton to nobody telling us what to do.

Now we vote for Republicans because they are not quite as bad as those Democrats (but almost).

Squishy Blue RINO: Having lived in Austin (which is, Vatican-like, surrounded by Texas) for 12 years, I can tell you this is how Texans think things oughta be. · Apr 19 at 3:31pm

Yup, we do.

Paused to take the test - 65. As a kid my family vacationed in Branson before it became the music capitol of the Western World. Eye opening - now back to the remainder of the pod cast.

Please - more give and take and allowing Mickey to add counter points would be greatly appreciated. Sounds too much Like Bill O'Reilly

Knowledge of what has been done is necessary, but not sufficient for knowing what properly should be done. Correlative factors, wisdom and integrity help to fill the voids and enhance sufficiency.

Often in complex and critical circumstances, expansive knowledge may provide the illusion of good judgment with unfortunate consequences; to wit political advisers too numerous to mention.
