Well done Peter. I doubt there's room in any Judeo Christian doctrine for schadenfreude, but I've been giddy since election night anticipating the utter shock, disappointment and betrayal the 'useful idiots' will experience when the degradation of our economy hits them first and hardest. Three Hail Marys and an Our Father!
One thing conservative politicians must do to attract minorities is govern conservatively. If blacks and Hispanics are getting liberal lite from republicans, what's the point?
Worse than that, I watched his show recently because Dennis Prager was on and Dennis couldn't finish a thought or complete his point without Hannity commandeering the topic with an inane talking point. I wish Fox would put Firing Line on in his time slot.
The ignorance of the American electorate. I'm afraid we will soon find out that over half of the people who vote in this country are incapable of putting the most fundamental issues, upon which they will vote, into historical context.
She knocked it out of the park. Watch Caryn Johnson's body language as Ann calmly deflects her indignity with facts. Keep your eyes on her throughout. By the end she's completely deflated.
He's right. A lot of middle class folks I knare say they are better off than they were 4 years ago because their 401k's have increased in value. The problem is, that will come crashing down when inflation and high interest rates kick in. Which, they will. Sooner than later.
I agree. However, I practice criminal defense and as I watched the speech I thought of it as a brilliantly crafted closing argument that, frankly, went on far too long. He would have been far more effective with half the speech. As it were I thought by the end of it he was there solely for selfpromotion.
Peter, you've already exhaustively contemplated every issue the movie addresses. The interview with his half brother and the belief that it was his half brother's failure to worship at the ideological feet of Barack Obama Sr. caused the President to disassociate him was over the top. With all the problems the President has with captialism, American exceptionalism, etc., why try to dogpile on his relationship with his half brother. He just doesn't care much for his extended family. (Or anyone else who can't help him get ahead.)
And should my own parish invite local leaders from planned parenthood with political clout into our family center so we can keep open the dialogue? I'm quickly going from disappointed to disgusted.
Re: The End of Ricochet?
I'm buying 5 ricochet memberships for 5 family members. I'm also reupping for 2014. BTW, 2%? Let's get that number to 50!
