This is the scene that had me burst out laughing the hardest the first time I saw it just because it was so unexpected:  Lancelot approaching the Castle

Although, I think for the funniest movie, I have to go with Blazing Saddles,  Slap Shot, or The Bad News Bears.  Too many scenes from all of those.  Also, the scene from I'm Alan Partridge where Alan has to give the after-dinner speech subsequent to impaling his foot on a spike.  I'd post it, but out of context is not quite as funny as in the episode and if you don't know Alan.  How jealous I am of you to discover him for the first time though.

There are SO many but the one that occurred to me right away is a little known piece called Tommib Help Buss by Squarepusher.  It's ethereal and Mozart-like (I'm sure many will think that sacrilege) in that it has a soft sweetness to it but with an underlying melancholia.  I've loved this song from the first time I ever heard it, but on Feb. 22, 2010, I had to put down my Jack Russell after 14 years.  And on a beautiful sunny evening in central Texas, I drove for nearly 3 hours just listening to this song over and over.  I forever associate it with St. John (Sin-jin) and my first real encounter with grief, but not in any macabre way.  Sometimes I think of the moment of the last breath … sometimes, but mainly I just think of him and the memories I have with him and that I still miss him.  So, very very good song.

Would Mr. Robinson's Clare Booth Luce sentence be, "The man who had just one more question."

On that note, in an older interview that Peter had done, asking the same question of the late Christopher Hitchens in regards to Josef Stalin, I remember bursting out laughing at the response, "Firm, but fair."  Man, I miss him.

See, you say anything with a bit of passion and conviction and you get a round of applause.

Misthiocracy: Y'all support my suggestions, and yet you refuse to "like" my comment.

Don't you know that I derive all my nourishment from your "likes"?

Do you want me to starve to death?!

Alas, you will never improve upon the inimitable Wodehouse.  As another has said, 'He's a little bit behind Shakespeare and miles ahead of everyone else.'  I would suggest his Ukridge stories though.  I don't think I've ever laughed so hard when I was all by myself.

Thanks Blue Yeti!

I'd like to echo Palestrina; if anyone knows the performance of the Tallis peace, I'd very much appreciate it.  Also, a playlist does seem to be a no-brainer for this podcast.

How can you dismiss a man with range (and guts and courage and guts)  like this :  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iddo1MgAlWQ

I simply thought your original statement had a sort of brilliant  Screwtape Letters ambiguity to it.  Not a complaint at all, mind you.

I note that you used the words "knows" and "respects" here; not necessarily that they, sorry, HE will actually do the right thing, but he knows enough to be careful how what he says might be interpreted.   · 28 minutes ago

Not in general, but whenever Elanor Cliff uses the word "frankly" I want to press my head through an up-turned awl; and whenever Shawn Hannity opens his mouth ... literally.

I'm offended and outraged by this insensitive post.  I demand an apology ...post-haste!

Maura Pennington: ..."because I accidentally saw part ofSlap Shot recently."

I hope that you purposefully corrected this character flaw.  Like those in the box, you should "feel shame."  Slap Shot has to be one of the funniest movies ever made.  (I believe Paul Newman claimed that Reggie Dunlop was his favorite role).

While it bothers me a little that some people don't know these things (though a lot of them are probably swimming upstream based on the education they've received), what really rankles is people who sneer at those who do. There's a subset of the population that prides itself on ostentatious ignorance; people who roll their eyes when someone quotes a book.

Dude; they're 'keepin it real'.

Were she to subjugate Yahoo's needs to her own agenda as a working mother -- or if she failed to take needed measures just to prove she was "nice" -- she would do a profound disserve to all the other women striving to reach the top because of their abilities, not their gender. · · 51 minutes ago

And, presumably, a disservice to Yahoo itself.  Otherwise, you end up with a health-care provider, like GM, that just happens to make cars ... really good cars ... great cars.

Singapore is also a place where you DO NOT want to get caught breaking a law.  Just ask Michael Fay (remember him).  This is a place where it's considered pornographic (and illegal) if you walk around your house in the buff.  Could you imagine what sort of chaos would result to our political class were we to import this measure...?    Perhaps ... .
