I was kinda shocked. It was soooo Bidenesque I couldn't believe it. When he finally brought it together it wasn't as painful. Should we mention that the man is 82? Quite the seasoned citizen, and it really showed in my opinion. I thought the chair bit was ok, could have been better. Hopefully it won't gain any traction, but we shouldn't be surprised that CNN pounced all over it. That's my biggest problem with it, it was the only turd sandwich in the whole glittering buffet. Every other speaker was principled and articulate, fired up and ready to go. However, I think when the Dems march their clowns out (Fluke? really), and they bomb magnificently, Eastwood's supposed gaffes will be forgotten. I think the trick for us is just not letting the operatives at CNN control the narrative. And it bears repeating, WWBreitbartD? We need him now more than ever.

As a resident of North Carolina, it seems to me Obama still has a fair share of supporters. Granted, I'm in a University town so possible bias may apply. Daily caller broke a story today about sexual abuse at the DNC HQ, and apparently there is thought this will hurt Dems in the State. However, I am sure it will get written off pretty toot sweet by the time of the November election.

My favorite Mitt face palm was when he said didn't know any NASCAR drivers, but he did know some owners. Seriously, being rich and white used to mean you at least had a shot. I feel like if Mitt had any skillz he'd be a shoo-in.

As a native Atlantan, I can attest to Coke's cultural hegemony in parts of the South. But if you are ever in NC or SC, get some Cheerwine or Sundrop.

I reckon Mitt should try it, sho nuff. Seriously though, considering how rural a lot of the South is, and how reliant on cars we are, shouldn't Mitt use energy policy to connect with the Southern man? Or do we not need him around anyhow? Gas prices hurt the poor the most. Ironically, pretty soon Obama and Chu will be the only ones who can afford cars.

He inspired me to stand up to liberals and their ad-hominem attacks. I think he did that for a lot of conservatives.

Definitely has to be a scene from Spielberg's Hook. I think I was 8 when it came out, and the Berrie's world through Spielberg's lens must have made my young head explode because to this day I still love that movie, and I find few people to share in that opinion. The scene I love the most is, what appears to me now as the stereotypical "training montage" that sees Robin Williams transform into Peter Pan. When the Medvedev to his Putin, the awesomely named Rufio, says that he can now "fly, fight and crow" Williams responds with his best rooster crow, and all the lost boys cheer. To this day, it brings a big smile to my face. Just remembering the huge rooster crows of all us wanna be Pan's on the playground.

Certainly no one has ever accused me of being cultured, but you said never tire of, and that certainly holds true. So much nostalgia, and great acting from Williams, Hoffman, and Hoskins IMO.

You should definitely read Liberty and Tyranny. You will fly through it a) because it's so engaging and b) it's short. Then, you can add his new one to your list.

Probably any biography of Jackie Robinson in the kids section of the local library would be perfect. Plus, you get the added bonus of knowing he was a Republican. Well, I don't know if your daughter is into baseball, but that might work.

Please, don't for a second however think that they are the party of hate. That's us, ok?

Also, I really hope you don't get cancer. No cancer in general. For anyone.

Honestly, could this just be the Komen believing the Mainsleaze media that most Americans consider planned parenthood some sacrosanct institution? This idea was bantied about on NRO I think, but if you were to just watch news coverage, you would assume that Komen had just slapped an elderly woman, not taken away 600k (which sadly, is laughably little considering its budget) from our friendly, federally subsidized abortion mill. Ugh, culture wars. They're baccccckkkk.

It truly is ridiculously irresponsible and disrespectful to Americans who are struggling because of this mess these politicos have driven us into to (mixed metaphor I admit). EVERY AMERICAN FAMILY has to budget. When I am arguing with my liberal friends, I point this out, that our tax dollars just contributes to a gigantic money pit in DC. HOWEVER, if you cut taxes and let people have more of their own money to spend, they will allocate those dollars more efficiently for their own families. Then again, this assumes someone a) taking responsibility for their family and b) paying taxes. Seems to be a rarer and rarer combination these days.

As someone who has chronic pain, this issue is actually kind of important to me. When I say "hippie" i mean someone who smokes weed and does NOTHING else. I know a lot of those people. I also know guys who smoke more weed than seems humanly possible, and they are top of their class. It really boils down to the individual and the individuals choices. From my observation, alcohol leads to worse decisions. However, weed leads to burnouts (and these outcomes can certainly be swapped). But at the end of the day, we all know that government enforcement of this prohibition amounts to a lot of wasted money, criminal activity, and non violent people imprisoned. I pay about 180$ a month for prescriptions. One of those (one of the more expensive ones) is a painkiller. Now, I would love an alternative medicine to deal with my pain, but I certainly don't want to lose my job or academic scholarships. Honestly, it's pretty frustrating.

Very true. Ignorant people. As a student of political science (don't give me any crap, my father dishes out enough thank you) I can tell you that the tyranny of the majority is alive and well, and I believe will be a huge problem (if it's not already) for this country.

Matt B.

Same! I wonder if that was intentional on their part, because if so, it's bloody brilliant.

I had to take a class that referred to gender spaces, cultural spaces, identities, etc. etc. etc. All those political correct terms run together. I decided to pass fail the course, showed up at the final, selected the most stereotypically liberal answers and got a B on the final, passed the class and got the credits. This is what the "educated" in our society are being taught, and they are lapping it up like pigs at a trough. That political correctness is in stark contrast to another professor of mine who referred to muslims as mohammedans. It was like a politically incorrect slap to the face, and I loved every second of my classmates squirming.

I often hear hippies spout off about hemp, paper interests, and big corporations (and probably big oil too!) aligning to make hemp and marijuana outlawed to boost profits and keep a possible competitor out of the market. According to these people, the full utilization of hemp is the only thing keeping us from utopia. However, like everything I take from hippies, I have always taken this with a grain of salt and a squirt of sanitizer. Can anyone shed any light on that? Any credible resources?

Interesting statistic about depression appearing in people who toked up before the age of fifteen. However, and this is all observational and anecdotal, but it seems like if you have the opportunity to smoke weed before the age of 15, lets just say there are probably a lot of things in your life that could cause depression. Like the fact you probably have no one to have a catch with on Fathers Day, or your mom is always away at work or with her significant other(s). Just speculation, and observation.
