I wonder if the nomenklatura receive special exemptions for their own kids

Phew... I'd hate to be known simply as "Moose"

I find the most delicious irony of the whole thing is that the court struck it down "because it does not guarantee taxpayer equality."

"I want to say X" as a guesstimate response. Must be a regional phrase, because my wife never heard it until she moved to my home town. The first time she heard it, she wanted to scream "If you want to say it, then just say it!!"

Predictably, many of the comments on the story are calling for a single payer system to "solve" this issue

Let's make this easy:

a) Basically, all professional bicyclists  dope

b) Professional bicyclying is a sham

c) The USADA is a bully organization

I think that pretty much covers it

Just saw this piece in the NYT this morning, and I had to rub my eyes to make sure I was reading right.

I must prefer to know someone's biases than to be assured that no biases exist at all.

I am a proud "conscientious objector" with regards to Facebook. I explain my decision simply: I expend enough energy in real life maintaining my anti-social lifestyle, for what do I need another "life" where I must constantly avoid interacting with others.

My spouse and I may be the last couple left on earth where neither spouse is on Facebook.

We need to consult the magic PC hierarchy to figure out how to proceed.

When I was a kid, I learned how to juggle three balls. I can still do it, if I need to impress my kids friends. When I tried to move up to 4 balls, I just didn't have the patience...

I'm a Braves fan and I must admit it pains me to win a game like this. I don't think it serves us well in the long run. The umpire must have been thinking "If this guy is out, we play a whole nother inning. If he's safe, we go to sleep. Seems like a simple call."

Paul A. Rahe: Defeating Obama is not enough. We have to elect a principled, conservative President with the courage and determination to cut back dramatically the administrative entitlements state. · Jul 20 at 3:55pm

I must agree with Mr. Rahe. I don't believe our goal should be to defeat him at all costs -- even to the point of pushing another "moderate, maverick" Republican. Such republicans have shown themselves just as subscribed to the ratchet theory. We need a true fiscal conservative who is not afraid of a fight.

Good question. I have found most of the arguments I have had with liberal friends to be useless. I try to avoid discussing politics and stick to sports.

I recall one friend (and yes, I try to maintain friends across the political spectrum) and I were watching football a couple years back, when he turned to me and asked "What do you think about Sarah Palin? I think she's pretty dangerous!" I responded: "Actually, I really like her". After an awkward silence, we returned to watching football, with an implicit agreement not to go there anymore.

Thanks for the suggestions! Now I have to figure out how to create more time to listen to it all...
