Actually, I'm feeling confident about 2024 too. The economic boom will propel the veep to victory. 2026-2034 will be a dark period though.

Calm down everyone. Rubio will win in 2016. The scandals will matter for Hillary for obvious reasons but Rubio would have beaten her anyway. 8 years of empty chair, an economy gone nowhere, and crackpots everywhere taking advantage of American weakness will result in a red carpet welcome for Republicans. This always happens. The fun parent tells us we can have cookies for breakfast every day. Then when we feel sufficiently sick we look to the responsible parent to cook us some spinach. Then after we spend a few years feeling like Popeye we forget and go back to cookies. If you have to feel nervous, worry about 2024.

Casey, you don't just  give EJ a chance to help the helpless, you give the rest of us a chance to pity the pitiable. It's your purpose here and no one could do it better.

You arespecial. · 2 minutes ago

Plus, without me, those guys who pass out free Obamaphones would be out of work!  I have at least 60!

On the one hand I don't really enjoy travel or interesting food or collecting interesting experiences.

On the other hand I have no career, no hobbies, no talents or abilities... or accomplishments.

So thanks for bringing this up.  I'm gonna go cry.

I'm flummoxed. What could "morally acceptable"even mean? Is the ACA politically acceptable? Is arena football sportingly acceptable? It could mean almost anything. And so means nothing.

Casey

This is very simple economics so listen up:  If you tax something, you get less of it.  So...

"When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping." To this day, especially in times of "disaster," I remember my mother's words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world."

If you don’t like what happened at the IRS, then, you’re arguing that profiling is bad policy.

I get a big kick out of absurdly constructed if-then statements that are delivered as an argument walk-off.   It is really a great tactic.  Almost anything can be forced into the formula and any defense against the statement only legitimizes it.

If you don't like the weather today, then, you must be for international emission reduction targets.

If you don't like getting a flu shot, then, you must be anti-science.

If you don't like chocolate cake, then, you must be arguing for the mass slaughter of camels.

One of the guys in that photo forgot to check the weather report before getting dressed in the morning. Can you guess which one?

I disagree.

Before the Beatles nobody sounded like the Beatles.  Since the Beatles everybody sounds like the Beatles.

I think that sound has become so familiar to us that we forget the creation of it was genius. · 8 minutes ago

The Beatles had some good songs, lots of bad ones, and made stuff famous.  Kind of like World of Warcraft didn't exactly do anything new-- it "just" got all the good stuff others had done, put it in one place, and did it well.

I've heard it said that creativity is taking two existing ideas and bringing them together to form a new idea.

The Beatles brought together several existing musical styles and formed a new sound.  That sound has been the sound in popular music ever since.

They were an OK pop band, but not the endall beall of rock.  They came along as the baby boomers were just starting to rebel and were lucky enough or smart enough to play into that emotion.   · in 2 minutes

QuickerBrownFox: Van the Man has a ridiculous amount of solid material, yet that's the only song you ever hear them play on the radio.

A good companion question might be:

What songs or artists are undeservingly underplayed?
