I keep thinking about all the computer and data geniuses who (we are told) work for Obama's political operation. 

The segment with Rubin was painful and embarrassing.  The giddiness really off-the-mark , given the threats posed to our Republic by these usurpations and abuses (not just "scandals" like Monica).  How could she say that no one could have ever predicted them?  People did predict them -- they were just the kind of people that Rubin regularly trashes.  Moreover, the Tea Partiers have been raising the IRS abuses for years, but Rubin apparently believes that that were not worthy of any credence , or she chooses to treat them as if they did not exist.

I agree on the awful ubiquity of televisions, but your cab driver was wrong: you can turn them off, although there will still be a picture of some sort on the screen.  

What, no Green Acres?  Insanely silly, with memorable characters (Eb, Mr. Haney, the Ziffels, Mr. Kimball).

Not so sure about current, but happy to have all the recommendations (for Netflix purposes).  

Maybe if Dan Stevens' career doesn't prosper elsewhere, he'll be back in a year or two and the car accident will be revealed to have been Mary's bad dream.  

It is time for Boehner to go. We need a leader in the House who can stand up to Obama rhetorically, not a deal maker. I have no idea about his replacement, though.

Romney obviously shouldn't have said it, but Little Mitch's critique is not original.  It sounds like he is just piling on.  If he doesn't have something constructive and actually helpful to say, maybe he should just observe the 11th Commandment in silence.  

I hope the Purdue job doesn't prove too strenuous for him.

I don't know if this is a piece of the puzzle or not, but Petraeus' wife is head of a department within the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.  I'm not crazy about the DCI's wife being beholden to the Administration.

I thought it was exactly the sort of line that I would have thought was neat when I was 16 and doing high school debate. 

That biased and ignorant moderator really turned the course of the debate.  Her confirming Obama's lie (deliberate untruth = lie) about calling Benghazi an act of terror really flustered Romney -- not to mention the crowd of "undecideds" applauding Crowley for helping out Obama!  It was about the worst example of journalistic malpractice I have ever seen.  She should be ashamed of herself and she deserves any and all abuse that she may receive. 

If there was a purpose to Biden's obnoxiousness, it was to goad Ryan into a mud-wrestling match that would be replayed later and would be the story coming out of the debate.  Ryan didn't fall for it.  

I wonder if we are seeing the start of an anti-Obama preference cascade (thanks, Instapundit).  It has to be very tiring to keep up the belief that Obama is great, so people might like getting permission to believe that he really isn't.
