Yes, this is a damn good way to start the day.

You had me at "[Obama] hit for the cycle...quartering troops..."

I'd go with the Fair Tax (www.fairtax.org). This plan has been studied for years. Basically a consumption tax, but it includes a monthly rebate for those below the poverty line, so they do not pay the tax.

The press turned on President Clinton, didn't they? I wouldn't rule it out.

Can you insert a paragraph in your post explaining what happened? Aside from technical reasons (many people on work computers cannot access YouTube), it would be nice to know what you are talking about without having to click on another link.

This is also why government officials, and officeholders, should never even joke about IRS audits.

How crazy! I am thankful that I am a low-interactive user; I rarely read comments, let alone contribute or feel a need to follow up comments.

I remember some syndicated shows running on my local station, and the opening sequence would end with "brought to you by....", and then it would stop. The introductions were on the films, but the station just ran their normal commercials.

Predictions as rosy as these seldom come true, that's a fact (for examples, read advertisements at the end of WWII- Boeing promises passenger planes with enormous legroom and suites, thanks to the development of wide-bodied, long-range bombers. To bad they forgot to check with operators of the aircraft). But, do not despair- the promises of cheap, plentiful atomic energy did not take place as promised, either...but we had computers grow (in ability) and shrink (in size) at the same time.

...or perhaps because people who are famous at the moment get obits in the Times. And these are people who were on their way up, or recieved lifetime celebrity. If you were famous, then faded complete, say 40-50 years ago, no obit. So, these old-timers are not counted in the obits.

Yes, I'm sure that many of these questions do not stem from stupidity but from a need to have everything, but everything, on the record in a positive format. This would preclude a future attack from another lawyer, saying that a step was missed. That's just my guess.

Jah, for pete's sake, give Kerry a pass. Nice to know that someone remembers "Sweet Adeline".

Are thereanybombings that would further a right-wing cause? Maybe I'm slow today, but part of the question seems to have an assumption that this boming would be wrong...but another one would be right? How's that, again?

Where's my towel?

It is the simple, mundane actions of thousands of servicemembers that won the Cold War. It didn't happen the instant Reagan took office. It was a long battle...the Thresher was one of the casualties. Every single swabbie, grunt, and dogface was a part of the enormous machine.

I used to religiously drive at speed limit + seven, but, my newest car has a digital cruise control. I set it to the speed limit, exactly. You never have to pass anyone. I stick to the right lane. But, yes, people ride my tail all the time.
