I came of age politically (no thanks to an apolitical mother and an ideologically inconsistent father) in the 90s as an old school New Deal Democrat. The worm turned after 9/11 when most of the local Dems I respected, at least on fiscal issues, spouted the blame America first nonsense that always made me feel uneasy being associated with. I found alternative voices in the conservative community and media who were hugely influential in my shift rightward.

International tournaments, like the Euro Cup, are the last vestige of patriotism left to most of the Western world. Don't tell Brussels or they'll put a stop to it pronto.

I see merit in the idea but not in the fashion Klein does (by the way not all us Klein's are "little" minded). I just finished seeing it. Well worth my time and money but then again I'm a sucker for popcorn flicks, superheroes and Joss Weadon's work. That was the height of human felicity for me.

Ones ideas of what's right and what's wrong (good and evil if you will) is either informed by or informs ones choice of practicing which faith. Should it come to any surprise that it also influences ones political alignment as well? That it does seems childish to me.
