You should go for the first two books of Rick Atkinson's trilogy. An Army At Dawn , The Day of Battle. The third is being published in May (covering D-Day and beyond). The first won a Pulitzer or some such award. Highly recommended.

I would offer the five volume biography of Hemingway by Michael Reynolds for a very good literary biography. "The Paris Years"  (vol 2) was particularly enjoyable, I thought.

 Can anyone provide a step by step diagram of how he arranges that hair? I can't  figure out if its a comb-over or a comb-down. Even the wind blown photo doesn't give me a clue.
