So what term should we use instead of "Intellectual"?  At first I thought of Empiricist, with empiricism meaning "the doctrine that allknowledge of matters of fact derives from experience and that the mind is not furnished with a set of concepts in advance of experience" (from dictionary.reference.com).  But, unfortunately, I think too many people might confuse this with Imperialist.  So how about realist or rationalist?

I watched Hannity last night to see what this was about and also found it a bit lacking.  But what I did find interesting is that Ben Shapiro repeated the phrase "Jeremiah Wright of Academia" (or something similar) a few times.  I'm wondering if they have other links of Obama to the "Jeremiah Wright of Media"...

I've seen the add too -- and it really piqued my curiosity since at the beginning it gives the location as Destrehan, LA, which is where I live.  It also shows the GPS coordinates 30, -90.375.  Those coords in  Google maps are just outside of Destrehan, and about a mile from my house!  And I rarely have to fight alligators to get out of my neighborhood.

The actual location is on the site of an old Shell Western E&P, Inc. Gas Processing plant, long since abandoned and shuttered. (Hence the name of the road SWEPI, which is an acronym for the old company name).  I talked with a friend that used to work at that plant and he said that when the plant was open, there was a 10' alligator they named Boudreaux that lived in the ponds back there.

There's a persistent rumor here in St. Charles Parish, just upriver from New Orleans that the Germans landed in U-boats and came ashore in some of the German communities like Des Allemans (which means The Germans) and bought bread and other supplies.

In my experience, the keys to a good gumbo are getting a good brown roux and using the cajun holy trinity (onion, bell pepper & celery).

OK, I spent about 10 minutes with my friend google and got the following info:  Central falls has filed for bankruptcy and been put in receivership.  Here's what their city gov't is made of:

Central Falls - Four Term Democtratic Mayor Charles D. Moreau OustedCity Council Ward 1: Eunice DeLaHoz (Finance Chair) arrested for DUI Since her party affiliation is not listed, there's at least a 90% chance its (D).Ward 2: Richard Aubin Jr. (Liquor Chair [wouldn't you expect him to be the one to get the DUI, but I digress]) arrested for embezzlement  Not much on the folks in the other three wards.  But c'mon -- elect folks like this to your city gov't and what do you expect?
Anybody else want to play find the party affiliation for the governing bodies of the afflicted municipalities?  Any one want to take odds that is a super-majority of Dems?

What this country needs is a "regulation reboot"!

I believe that the House should propose legislation that would let any organization request a waiver by stating how their circumstances are similar to one or more of the organizations that have already been granted a waiver.  These submissions would be sent to the congressperson's office for concurrence and then forwarded to the appropriate authorities in the executive branch.  They could call it the Obamacare Goose Gander Bill.
