James, your detailed post is spot on. I was in a state of shock on election night - I couldn't believe this guy was re-elected. Fortunately, some excellent single malt was to hand.

We are beginning to see, however, the full force of the US checks and balances coming in to play, so I see a glimmer of hope.

Currently, we live in occupied USA. Whether we are able to undo the fundamental transformation remains to be seen.

Oh, yes, Valerie Jarrett is the effective President - Mr Obama just reads from the teleprompter, flies around in Air Force One to fundraisers,  hobnobs with movie stars, and plays Golf.

David Williamson

Mr Obama is no Statesman, so I doubt that he will resign - there will be no room left under the bus.

~Paules: I'm getting a sidebar advertisement to have lunch with Michele Obama and Elizabeth Warren.

I tried Arugula and didn't like it. Not so fond of lickspittle, either.

As usual, Richard Fernandez  says it best  - "The challenge to resolving the scandals is not simply to leave someone holding the bag; to pin it on somebody and return to the same old bad behavior but to convince everyone — both from the Left and the Right — that these things will never reoccur; that the remainder of the second term will be different from the first and that a third term, with all it implies, can never ever come."

He links to an outstanding post by Sarah Hoyt - grounds for long term optimism, rather than short term impeachment.

Spot on - I'm guessing that the majority of IRS staff are Democrats, so it doesn't take an actual verbal or written order from their Dear Leader - 'tis more likely subliminal.

Hard to prove.

David Williamson

Most likely due to that beacon of efficiency, fairness and justice, the IRS.

Or, more likely, C.

Mr Stewart is shooting at squirrels, after pointing out that there were a gazillion attacks on consulates during the ChimpBushHitler years, so what's the big deal about Benghazi?

So, yes, Obama hasn't lost Stewart - yet.

The squirrels are coming home to roost.

Mr Holder has awoken a sleeping giant... or, a dwarf, at least.

David Williamson

No, it was a long time ago. And, anyway, what difference does it make?

David Williamson

This is the guy who had an early nite, spending quality time with his family, ahead of strenuous fundraising in LV, while (middle class) Americans were dying in Benghazi,  right?

Oh, and who believes in wealth re-distribution through the IRS? Tea Party Patriots hardest hit. Oh, and Jews.

Oh, yes, he is.

Scott - the people who voted for Mr Obama didn't care about Benghazi - they might have said "what difference does it make?".

David Williamson

Tell us what you really think, Dave.

David Williamson

Not to worry - with Mr Obama as Commander in Chief, what could possibly go wrong?

Oh, wait...

Oh, yes - how did that work out?

David Williamson

Wait a minute - doesn't this violate the CofC. Or Godwin's Law?
