Bio
Born and lived in Toronto most of my life. Moved to Ottawa in 2008. I've worked in charities, government, and the private sector, and am currently with an IT firm based in Silicon Valley.
I'm a cradle conservative who wandered off the reservation and returned much chastened after I saw what the socialists did to Ontario in the early 1990s.
Same story with Catholicism, actually, although this involved redemption through a mad Irishwoman (this may be redundant).
In between trips to Ireland to meet the relatives (took four trips to meet the aunts), I read theology, history, IT stuff, and take our son to his hockey & baseball games.

Re: Ricochet as Business
Thinking about further, you may be correct, Crow. The limits placed by the CoC are quite minimal, so my criticism may be misplaced.
The interpretation by some members, however, has led to a suffocating atmosphere. Ideas take second place when members take the vapors over a misused word or confuse substantive discussion with personal invective.
Well, I must say I've enjoyed my two minutes of hate. For my next trick, perhaps I'll praise Mike Murphy or start a "Bring back Kenneth" movement.
Crow's Nest
I say again for maximum possible [expletive-ing] penetration: what topics are off limits and what constrains members from "expressing themselves how they wish"
