Re: Ruh-Roh!

Stan Hjerleid

I've never been a political activist of any kind but I am a Navy vet from long time ago.  The whole Benghazi fiasco causes my blood to boil.  I haven't written or posted on it because whether here or on American Thinker, I figured I would just be "preaching to the choir". That was probably faulty thinking on my part.
I did join a group on Twitter and we meet every night, 7 days a week and post twitter comments to our Senators and Representatives and various media personalities. We use a special technique of replying to one of their tweets as a reply. That way it sticks to their timeline & others can see it.
Is this making a difference? We think so. We have taken Fox to task for their left leaning tendencies. We are constantly on Speaker Boehner to quit blocking H. Res. 36 for a Select Committee to investigate.  We have garnered media attention (Tea Party Fire Ants).  We have been at this 8 months now and are not going to let this die. Anyone interested in finding out more see http://benghazi-truth.blogspot.com.

Thanks Dave. I'm so tired of these primping primadonnas.

I consider myself healthy, don't take pills, and was overweight 200 lbs and 5'10. I got the book Wheat Belly from Amazon and was amazed at the logic of how this grain, wheat has been genetically modified. Further all the diseases that seemed to go away by eliminating wheat.

Decided on Aug 1 to go "wheat free" and see if I could lose some weight. Lost 30 lbs in 4 months.

The stories in the book about people seeing miraculous health changes for the better, were inspiring.   This doctor was surprised at the changes in peoples health when they gave up wheat. He's got a great blog just Google "Wheat Belly".

You tell it like it is Paules. I have neighbors  and they all are of the same feeling. Don't wake the sleeping giant.

~Paules: I hear you loud and clear, Dave.  Rest assured, you're not the only one who's drawn a line in the sand.  One of the advantages of moral clarity is that it puts iron in the spine.  The state can pass all the laws it likes, but we are no longer morally bound to obey them.  The left doesn't seem to understand that civil society rests on voluntary compliance to laws that are equitable and reasonable.  America is about to get a good look at the totalitarian face of those who presume they can rule us.  The left should remember a page from their own playbook:  "You can jail the resister, but not the resistance."  The sleeping giant is something they don't want to provoke.  He tends to be very cranky when fully awake.     · 1 hour ago

You outdid yourself Dave. This is my line too.

For me personally, that's where the line gets drawn.  My right to self defense, inextricably linked as it is to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, is non-negotiable and subject neither to the designs of the statist left nor the politically expediency of Republicans

I'm sending this post to all the Patriots I know. Take care, keep the shiny side down and thank for all great posts in 2012.

Just sent 3 gift subscriptions.  New gift link works great.  And Molly, appreciate all you input to Ricochet.  Take care an Merry Christmas.

Yep, Steyn was the carrot that brought me to Ricochet.

Tennessee Patriot: I love Ricochet and all of the podcasts. It would be too depressing to lose it.

The thing that triggered my joining was the promise of Mark Steyn being a frequent podcaster. I would pay $10 per month to be able to listen to a premium weekly Steyncast- especially if he had guests  like Rob, Peter, Goldberg, Rahe, VDH, Lileks, Delingpole, etc. Then you could split the premium fee with him. A way for Ricochet and Steyn to profit. And it could have adult content- like naughty words!! (ha) · 3 hours ago

Been a member since it's inception.  Mark Steyn was promoting as I recall. Read a lot, contribute sometimes but Ricochet is a staple in my life.  I've promoted to my friends with invites but none became members.

See a lot of good ideas in the comments. With the kind of traffic this site is getting, there has to be a way to monetize it. American Thinker has ads.  I still read it.

Double my price and I'll still stay in.  Agree it's too cheap, Laura Ingraham, Dennis Miller, Rush, all have monthly fees $6 and up. And their subscribers are in the millions.  Agree with getting some talk shows to promote.

Hang in there, there has to be a way.  Ricochet is too important to let die on the vine.  Think I'll go buy me a Ricochet mug and cap for my Christmas presents.  Then give 3 memberships to a couple a people I think deserve it.

Take care and we can't let Ricochet die.

I agree Jack.  I'm 2/3 way through (600 pages).  The way our troops were treated was depressing.  So many gave so much.  The conditions where they worked were atrocious. While I get lost with the names and various Outposts, the family stories of those left behind were heartbreaking.

Jake Tapper is to be congratulated on a very fine book.  Every patriot needs to read this.  You will look at all the soldiers in a different light.  I just can't imagine myself in these conditions.

Would recommend everyone to donate to Wounded Warrior Project.  They can use our help.  Be nice if Obama would fore-go his $4 Mill vacation and donate to our soldiers and their families.

I distrust Grover Norquist and defer to Frank Gaffney of the Center For Security Policy in his analysis of how Grover Norquist is a key enabler for the infiltration of the Muslim Brotherhood into the Bush and Obama administrations.

Watched it 3 times.  I only subscribed to PJTV couple months ago.  Wouldn't it be great to have someone like that in the WH? Thanks for sharing Dave, gives me hope.

@ Mike Wagner, @Trink.  I'm not smart enough to analyze but I have suspicions.  We'll get through this.  Stay safe Dave and you are in my prayers.

Reminds me of my boot camp. One guy Atherton couldn't march to save his soul.  We were being kept late to practice marching and he was the problem.  Everyone was exasperated, it was late and finally the DI had had it.  He called Atherton out of ranks, and was going to have him call cadence so he wouldn't screw up the rest of us. Atherton wasn't too smart, but he was trying.

Well, he called Atherton out the said to him "call cadence".  Atherton then at the top of his lungs hollered "CADENCE".  Needless to say, we all broke up and that was the end of the day marching.

Recently read Boyd: The Fighter Pilot Who Changed the Art of War. It certainly gave me insights into the military ruling class.  I know I now have taken some of them down off of the pedestal upon which they perch.  I'm not painting all with a broad brush but I'm now looking at all of them with a much more open mind.

Stan Hjerleid

Totally agree.  I think it was shortly after the 2008 win that Axelrod was dispatched back to Chicago to start working on re-election.  Looks like they were way ahead of everyone else.  Spend a lot of time on the internet and occasionally pulled up a YouTube video and there would be a Obama ad lead in. We better get our act together.
