1. The friend/son sounds like he was born long after the alleged facts, so cannot know them.

2. Lots of monsters had lovely family lives.

3. War crimes were committed by people who were not members of the party, so "his father was not a Nazi. Period" is not dispositive.

4. This paragraph, if accurate, says he entered the US illegally and acquired citizenship fraudulenty.

Michael Karkoc, 94, told American authorities in 1949 that he had performed no military service during World War II, concealing his work as an officer and founding member of the SS-led Ukrainian Self Defense Legion and later as an officer in the SS Galician Division, according to records obtained by the AP through a Freedom of Information Act request. The Galician Division and a Ukrainian nationalist organization he served in were both on a secret American government blacklist of organizations whose members were forbidden from entering the United States at the time.

He does not appear to be pure as driven snow.

Do you?

My London-born wife watches "Spooks" and I happened by when the "Jews posing as Muslims" episode was on.

I asked her how she could watch such rubbish and she threw back the line I always give her when she watches those hosptal shows. "It's only pretend."

Brian, there seems to be an obvious question missing on your list (unless I'm hopelessly out of touch):

What exactly is this gay lobby lobbying for?

Israel P.

On my bucket list is writing something that begins:

"I know a young lass named Penelope

Who came to town on her antelope"

and ends with "caliope."

If you adopt, you wouldn't be "bringing children into the world."

John with a brother Chris? Sounds like Christian Arabs to me. Anyway, he killed his father and brother, so whatever this is, it doesn't sound like jihad and we make ourselves sound silly insisting it is.

Yes.

המק-ם ינחם אתכם בתוך שאר אבלי ציון וירושלים

May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

Jay, you must understand. In 2004, a governor who wants to be president cannot just say "I am the best." So what does he do - he says the best of all of us is a guy who cannot possibly be elected because of his name.

Israel P.

But... but... isn't government just a name for things we do together?

Boymoose: Why is this data necessary? As long as they use a drone to kill us its legal.

There is a stupider (its word) side to this.  At some point they wont have enough english speakers to listen to all the calls so they will use computers to convert words to text.

Below is a voice mail message I left on my friends phone this week (converted to text):

"Words for your message cents weird I forgot my phone on monster at home so I'm just getting back to 19 calling all talk to them."

Its going to get very weird indeed! · 6 minutes ago

So are we entering the stage where we try to subvert the system by just throwing stuff out there. Calling people and just saying a few nonsense words with "two o'clock" or "Wednesday" thrown in?

Israel P.

The reason for this is very simple. Once it's been done, for whatever reason and on whatever grounds, it becomes way easier to do it again on much less.

Nah.  In politics there's always a second chance.  Ask Richard Nixon or Mark Sanford.

And when it comes to election time, since the other guy is always worse than Hitler, people will rationalize their way into voting for him. ·

When was Nixon redeemed?

In 1968, when he was elected President of the United States. · 6 minutes ago

I thought he were talking about after he resigned. He was a pariah after that. · 8 minutes ago

Well, no one promised third chances.

I would vote for Chris Christie in the general if the Republicans nominated Donald Trump.

I watch very little television and haven't seen most of the shows on the list, but I have no doubt that Northern Exposure should be way higher.

The scariest thing about the last four and a half years is the tiny number of people who said "Hey, this isn't what I signed up for."

Everything is either "I told you so" from one side or "You're a racist" from the other.
