Hey BLM, Do These Lives Matter? The Ongoing Persecution of Christians Worldwide

In Nigeria and across the Lake Chad/Sahel region of Africa, the persecution of Christians by Islamist extremist groups, including Boko Haram and the Fulani, has escalated to “genocidal massacres,” according to the group “Genocide Watch.” In just the last three years, more than 7,000 Nigerian Christians have been killed, which is more than the total number of Christians killed by ISIS in both Iraq and Syria. Islamist groups, well armed and financed, have pledged their allegiance to both ISIS and  Al Qaeda across Africa, from Burkina Faso, Mali, Chad and even into Ethiopia.

So writes Fr. Benedict Kiely, a Catholic priest and the founder of Nasarean.org, a charitable organization aiding and advocating for persecuted Christians.

And it is not only Africa, but across the Middle East that the slaughter takes place.

The threats from the Shia militias against the Christian population are increasing, and a form of ethnic cleansing is taking place. In the formerly majority Christian town of Bartella, where my charity is assisting some local businesses, the local imam has told Muslims not to use Christian shops, and the majority of the town is now Shabak, supported by the militias. Speaking recently to the Syriac Catholic Pastor, Fr. Behnam Benoka, who was himself threatened at gunpoint by a militia leader, he told me that “what ISIS started, the militias will finish” — the total removal of Christians from the Nineveh Plain.

Of course, we rarely, if ever hear about this from the MSM. Their ignorance of the story probably stems from their ignorance of Christianity — as evidenced by these two (one of whom claims to be Catholic):

Christianity is the one group that is still OK to bash without recourse.

St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

And lest you think it won’t happen here – good old Lunch Bucket Joe, that staunch Catholic, along with Pope Nancy will bring the fun to you:

From his support for taxpayer funded pro-abortion extremism, to his pledge to continue to harass the Little Sisters of the Poor, Biden will be a wrecking ball against all things that Catholics hold dear.

People have a hard time linking political lawfare with outright killing and genocide, even though we forcefeed a holocaust education that describes exactly that happening to Jews.

It starts as simply harmless little things that give the outgroup a little trouble in getting their beliefs protected. Then it’s animosity in the culture that makes society think less of your group, then its harassment, labeling, identifying, and then we get to killing.

I thought our first ammendment was to safeguard us from that process – for all consciences. But it isn’t. We do it societally to others and its going to happen to Christians here.

We will be persecuted in America. Not tomorrow, not next year, maybe not even this generation. But I’m pretty certain my kids will be.

The persecution of Christians and Jews around the world has been increasing for some time. Who hears them and is helping them? This evil spread of radicals and hate throughout is rearing its ugly head everywhere. The poorest suffer the most. Why didn’t Obama do more? How did this insidious poison spread throughout these continents so quickly? The Bible warns of these times – they are here.

May God rebuke him, we humbly pray
And do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
    by the power of God,
cast into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who
prowl throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.

    Amen.

That Lemon/Cuomo clip is especially distressing since a large swath of their audience won’t even recognize the error. We’ve fallen a long, long way.

Scott Wilmot: Hey BLM – Do These Lives Matter?

And the most likely answer from BLM is: A typical attempt by a white male to direct the discussion away from the real issues, proving his white fragility.

Thank you for bringing this up Scott. No one speaks about the slaughter that is going on daily in Nigeria. Islam remains a threat to Christianity across the world.  And Jews too, but there are so many more Christians that we have actual contact.

All I can say is, get out of the United Nations. At best it’s useless. At worse it acts against us.

I am convinced Obama did everything he could to support Islam across the world. Just look at his support of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and the Mullahs in Iran.

There is more going on in Nigeria

In the first half of 2018, more than 1,300 Nigerians have died in violence involving herders and farmers. What were once spontaneous attacks have become premeditated scorched-earth campaigns in which marauders often take villages by surprise at night. Now claiming about six times more civilian lives than the Boko Haram insurgency, the conflict poses a grave threat to the country’s stability and unity, and it could affect the 2019 general elections…

The conflict is fundamentally a land-use contest between farmers and herders across the country’s Middle Belt. It has taken on dangerous religious and ethnic dimensions, however, because most of the herders are from the traditionally nomadic and Muslim Fulani who make up about 90 per cent of Nigeria’s pastoralists, while most of the farmers are Christians of various ethnicities.

Though I am sure that @she  could shed more light on it.

And Trump, the guy all these ex-Republicans are going after, as flawed as he is, is standing up. I don’t know if he has a religious bone in his body, but he’s been there, backing up those who do. During the 2016 campaign, I was dubious about his pro-life “conversion,” which I thought was about an inch deep. He hasn’t taken one step back from defending life. That separates him from Bill Kristol et al, who will tell you Biden is a better choice at upholding “values”.

Donald Trump has been magnificent on cultural and religious issues.  Trump win or lose, these ex-Republicans will never come back into my good graces.  They have burned their bridges.
