We Are in Freefall

In a world gone mad, Marxist zombies riot, burn, loot and murder in every major city in America (and many European capitals) over the death of the hero/criminal George Floyd. Corporate America, Hollywood celebrities, etc., fall all over themselves to confess their white guilt. Statues and monuments are torn down and it no longer matters if what they represented was good or not because it’s total nihilism. And the people who are charged with the authority to maintain order and protect us stand by and do nothing.

Under these circumstances, it’s not hyperbole to say that our country is in moral and intellectual freefall.

Is there anybody out there who will stand up to this? Where are all the crazy right-wing militias with all their guns and ammunition that the left has been warning us about for decades? What would it take to bring them out? Whatever it is, by then it will likely be too late.

By the way, just a footnote here, which will be of no particular interest to Black Lives Matter, Antifa, Hollywood, Corporate America, Democrat Party, the universities…

The totals are in for the Father’s Day weekend in Chicago: over 100 shot and 14 dead, including four dead children, one as young as three.

But right around the corner from my house, artistic portraits of George Floyd are being displayed in the front yards of utterly clueless virtue signalers.

The moral idiocy literally takes your breath away.

The thing is that they tend to be in the country, not the cities that are and have been run by Democrats for decades, usually about half a century. The militia types aren’t going to run into the Democrats’ building that the Democrats have set on fire. They’re going to stand outside pointing and laughing and saying, “Bet you won’t come out here and do that!”

I can think of one guy down on Pennsylvania Avenue who seems to be trying, but, right now, it’s Tucker Carlson who’s been more successful.  So he’s in the crosshairs, of course.

I think it is the intent of the left/Democrats to make it seem that all is falling/collapsing/dissolving.  Certainly the big cities ruled by Democrats are in chaos.  On the other hand, my younger son  and his family spent a near idyllic week in northeastern Arkansas with friends. The wife works for a  big corporation  and is their rep with WalMart.  That area is gorgeous and peaceful.  The couple they stayed with have a custom home on 7 acres, including a number of animals.

From there, they went to Texas looking at colleges for their high school senior daughter.  They thought Austin was a dump and were not impressed by UT.  They flew back to sequestered CA thinking about where they will settle once my son is able to retire.  His wife runs a successful home based business and can work from anywhere.

It is the deep blue coastal strips and a few deep blue midwestern cities, like  Chicago and Minneapolis, that are collapsing.  The rest of the country is just fine.  I live just outside Tucson and understand there was some mild rioting around the University of AZ downtown.  I have no reason to go there and they would be well advised to stay away from the foothills where everyone is armed.  Phoenix is more like a blue city and had looting in some upscale stores. That’s one reason we don’t live in Phoenix.

Well I agree that we’re in a freefall but the those states and cities, the politicians and cops aren’t going to do much.  Those cities and all those urban sophisticates are gonna get it good and hard.  They voted for this,  they’ve marched for this, they’ve surrendered their rights (2nd Amendment) for this.

As to what to do? I know when & where to vote.  I know I can legally defend my house if anyone breaks in, what isn’t clear yet is when we can defend our block/neighborhood/village.

I think this appearance can be deceptive and I am willing to wait through the coming election before reaching a conclusion. The earlier comments have covered more or less my reasoning and view on where we are. We may be able to continue the fight from the White House. If not, we get down and dirty.

    Greg,

I couldn’t agree with you more. The universities have been on this downward spiral path for 40 years. They have dragged secondary education with them and given the green light to media, press, and finally corporate complicity.

The fall of the Soviet Union took away any fact-based argument for the Marxist/Socialist point of view. Thus for those over-invested in leftism, they needed to go to extreme nihilism to continue to make their case. Of course, deconstructionism is infantile. “The facts don’t matter only the narrative matters.” In what universe is this true? Thus we have the most grotesque lies and fetishism supporting non-existent policy changes in an orgy of destruction and violence.

    Moral idiocy indeed.

    Regards,

    Jim

They’re not hoping to take the country by force.  That’s the Left’s game, and as usual, SJWs always project.

The preppers and militias mostly fear that the USA is lost and want to protect what they can.

    One aspect of this:

China is a ruthless meritocracy. Ten million high-school students take the gaokao (college entrance exam) each year, with math questions a lot tougher than our Graduate Record Examination. The average Chinese family spends the equivalent of a year’s income on tutoring. A third of Chinese undergraduates major in engineering, and China graduates six times as many STEM BAs as the U.S. each year–more than the U.S., Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Europe combined. A lot of their teachers hold doctorates from top U.S. universities, where we trained up a world-class faculty for Chinese universities (which now rank among the world’s best in STEM according to all the Western ratings).

Meanwhile, the University of California is “phasing out” standardized exam (SAT and ACT) scores as a criteria for admission, in order to build a Potemkin village of equality. China is building up its universities and we are destroying ours. Who do you think will run the world a couple of decades from now?

During the Vietnam War era in 1969, it was called the Year of the Bombing. I am referring to domestic bombings. That was Bill Ayers and the Weathermen group and the Black Panthers and the Symbionese Liberation Army. We’ve had riots and kidnappings and murders. What we have now that is different is a media that is nearly 100% against our country. They leave the distinct impression that our country is burning. In reality what is burning is the part of the country where they live and the Democrats, like themselves, control. I’ll admit it is unsettling and confounding. So many people are supporting this ugly BLM movement when they don’t even know what it is and what the group is trying to accomplish. There was a picture posted on the Nextdoor site of two sweet little old ladies sitting in their lawn chairs on a popular boulevard median patch. They were both holding signs saying Black Lives Matter and waving and smiling at people driving by. I would bet $1000 they had no idea that BLM is strongly opposed to the concept of a nuclear family. But there they are, like greeters at Walmart. “Have a great day!”

The states have to request the National Guard and the cities and towns do have law enforcement, but their hands are tied in some areas and seem to be standing down. I agree with you – this is a very sad and surreal period. It’s going to be a tough summer, like the virus wasn’t enough to wake people up.  We will get through it.

I’m not sure what their orders are.  It appears to me that places like Seattle, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Chicago, and elsewhere where crime is increasing, along with lawlessness, destruction of property, etc. that normally law enforcement would be supported to go in and keep the peace. They would be answering calls – and certainly not abandoning precincts to thugs. If the mayors wanted law and order to succeed, they would support those whose job it is to enforce it.  That appears to not be happening…………..if they do not have visible support from the leadership of the communities, i.e. the mayors, what is their roll and to whom do they obey?

The mayor of Seattle is on the side of the “demonstrators” so is not a supporter of her police department (it was she, as a Federal Prosecutor, who invited the “consent decree” covering the Seattle police department).  Even the (black, female) police chief has remained silent in the face of destruction and murder.

A penumbra of an emanation of Virtue has been draped over all who “protest” the manifestations of the past, because the Left believes the that past is the wellspring of original sin. (The “past,” by their definitions, consists of a period between 1619 and last night, and it occurred only with the territorial boundaries of the United States of America.)

The hard left wants to abolish the signifiers of American culture; the squishy liberals are unable to push back, because their intellectually flaccid politics have paid lip service to leftish critiques for years. They have flattered themselves by believing they have common cause with the Revolution, because that’s awesome and romantic, but they never thought it would upend their lives; they only thought it would mean Good Things for People Who Live In the Bad Part of Town. They are unable to criticize vandalism and lawlessness because they are wired to believe that uprisings are virtuous by definition, and also, you know, Andrew Jackson is problematic.

They had a quiet faith that there would be a gentle reorganizing of things. Some statues would come down, then the mob would be sated. Some windows would be broken, then the mob would be sated. The mob would midwife a better time when everything was the same, with all the coffee shops and museums and placid afternoons on the Mall, but we’d all be better, you know? The mob would be happy because the statues were down and we all agreed that everything before was wrong, but everything going forward would be right.

Also Ikea would still be around, and trucks from somewhere would bring in meat and kale and stuff, and electricity would come from sustainable sources, and everyone’s wages would go up because Justice, and it would all be better because the good people were now in charge of making sure the good things happened.

I wonder if the good squishy liberals look at all this with horror, but think “we can still turn this to something good, because righteous anger is necessary.” It’s like a French revolutionary bureaucrat looking at the guillotine plans, and thinking “only the King, and none others. And even so, with regret.”

All the Democrats and especially the ones behind this chaos.  I don’t mean just George Soros but Bezos and Bill Gates and big foundations run by leftists. The tech people are about H1B visas and the China market and Chinese fabrication plants where Apple makes iPhones. The globalist rich long ago lost interest in America.  There is a woman named Chang who is a second generation Korean lawyer who is very anti-American.  She is a legal analyst for someone. Her father was an immigrant who ended up with a PhD. America has been very good to the family and this woman hates America.

So I went to youtube, and the last minutes of his show have weird music playing over the final piece, and no where prior to that weird music did science get discussed.

I’m wondering if you caught the show Tuesday and noticed a discussion about science?

Great comments. It is also true that the mainstream news refuses to call the riots anything other than  “protests.” The SF Chronicle even had a photo of some huge fire in one part of a city, but the labeling around the photo referred to “protests and protestors.”

Well, maybe some segments of it.  Outside of that people are looking on in bemused if not alarmed detachment wondering how far leftists in the big blue cities will go.

The moral and intellectual center of the country hasn’t been in the urban areas for some time.  Those have been given over to the zombie horde.   Why anyone would have anything to do with them is beyond me.
